Nintendo has introduced Amiibo functionality for several of their games, some examples of this being Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Super Smash Bros Ultimate, but no title has incorporated them quite as well as Tears of the Kingdom. The game is compatible with any Amiibo that features a Legend of Zelda character, so while that obviously refers to the previous game in the series, it means players can also use any Zelda-related Amiibo from the Smash Bros series too.

When the player scans an Amiibo, a small chest and a few separate items will spawn for Link to pick up, and these rewards are often directly related to the characters themselves. A lot of these gifts also callback to the roots of the series, which is a nice love letter to longtime fans of the games. Still, with so many Amiibo figurines out there to choose from, it helps to know which ones are the most rewarding, so here are all the best Amiibo figures to use during a playthrough of Tears of the Kingdom. It's worth keeping in mind that a lot of these items can be earned in-game by completing certain quests and challenges, but acquiring them through the use of an Amiibo is much easier.

7 Sheik (Super Smash Bros)

Link Wearing Sheik's Mask

Rewards:

  • Sheik's Mask
  • Sheik Paraglider Fabric
  • Eightfold Blade
  • Phrenic Bow
  • Mushrooms

The Amiibo of Zelda's alter ego known as Sheik will drop a handful of goodies for Link to use in his adventure, including a Phrenic Bow and powerful Eightfold Blade, but by far the most valuable items are the Sheik Mask and the fancy Sheik Paraglider Fabric. The Sheik mask nearly covers Link's entire face and even completely changes his hairstyle to mimic the original character's.

The new fabric for the paraglider, on the other hand, features a nice blend between blue and white with a giant purple Sheikah Eye in the center. This is an overall fantastic package, especially for anyone who's a big Ocarina of Time fan. Since the Sheik Mask will also improve Link's stealth, it makes it ideal to equip when raiding Bokoblin camps and fortresses.

Link Wearing Hero Armor

Rewards:

  • Hero Armor Set
  • Pixel Paraglider Fabric
  • Sword Of The Hero
  • Knight's Broadsword
  • Soldier's Shield
  • Arrows

The pixilated 8-bit Link Amiibo is already a must-have for any longtime Zelda fan, but it can also bring some retro nostalgia to Tears of the Kingdom in the form of the rewards that it offers. This Amiibo comes with the "Hero" armor set which harkens all the way back to Link's original elf-like getup that he would wear in the classic games.

It also comes with an extremely unique paraglider design, which features an 8-bit Link sprawled out across the surface so that players are able to get a full view of the little guy every time they soar through the skies of Hyrule. The Knight's Broadsword is also a pretty handy addition that can become a real powerhouse of a weapon after being fused with another item.

Sea-Breeze Boomerang

Rewards:

  • Wind Armor Set
  • King Of Red Lions Paraglider Fabric
  • Sea Breeze Boomerang
  • Sea Breeze Shield
  • Knight's Broadsword
  • Fish
  • Arrows

The dark green vest and light undershirt that Link sports in Wind Waker can be obtained in Tears of the Kingdom by scanning this Amiibo, but it also comes with some pretty powerful equipment which is incredibly fun to play around with. One of these is the Sea Breeze Boomerang, which deals a pretty significant 16 damage on each hit, but considering it's going to be bouncing around to different enemies, it can easily wipe out an entire camp of weaker monsters in just a few seconds.

The Amiibo will also drop the Sea Breeze Shield, which has a staggering defense stat of 65, so it will remain durable for more or less an entire playthrough. There's also the King of Red Lions Paraglider Fabric, which might look a little basic on the surface, but the small callback to Link's beloved ship from Wind Waker is still a welcome addition to the package.

Lon Lon Ranch Paraglider Fabric

Rewards:

  • Time Armor Set
  • Lon Lon Ranch Paraglider Fabric
  • Biggoron's Sword
  • Soldier's Claymore
  • Arrows

Ocarina of Time is often considered one of the best entries in the entire series, and for many fans, it was their first exposure to the wonderful world of The Legend of Zelda. The Ocarina of Time Link Amiibo reaches into those feelings of nostalgia by gifting the player with Link's classic dark green tunic from that game, but it also comes with a few other items too, one of which is the devastating Biggoron's Sword.

This greatsword has a strength stat of 36, which already makes it incredibly powerful, but it will be able to annihilate mini-bosses like a Hinox or Lynel with ease when attached with a horn, or any other sharp object. As the cherry on top, the Amiibo also brings with it a paraglider fabric with the Lon Lon Ranch symbol over the top, which any fan of Ocarina will be very familiar with.

Link Wearing The Awakening Armor

Rewards:

  • Awakening Armor Set
  • Egg Paraglider Fabric
  • Soldier's Broadsword
  • Arrows

Admittedly, carrying the chibi-style design of Link in Link's Awakening over into the more modern version of the character is no easy task, but Nintendo somehow managed to knock it out of the park in Tears of the Kingdom. The giant head that comes with the Awakening set of armor is pretty humorous, while the rest of the armor perfectly encapsulates the charm of Link's Awakening and the lighthearted tone of that game.

This Amiibo also includes what could be the most visually striking and best-looking paraglider fabric in the game, which features a delicate blend of light blue waves and a dark blue sky, along with the Wind Fish's egg right in the middle to finish off the amazing design.

Epona Horse In Tears Of The Kingdom

Rewards:

  • Twilight Armor Set
  • Mirror Of Twilight Paraglider Fabric
  • Epona Horse
  • Knight's Broadsword
  • Soldier's Shield
  • Fruit

While Twilight Princess may have been one of the more divisive games in the series, one area where it really shined was the design of the world and its characters. Link was the perfect example of this who retained his classic tunic which was modernized to fit the slightly more grounded tone of the game, and this outfit is just one of the rewards players can get their hands on when scanning the Twilight Princess Link Amiibo.

There's also the glossy Mirror of Twilight paraglider fabric, which is a real joy to look at while traveling across Hyrule, but the biggest treat of this Amiibo is the Epona Horse. This horse already starts off with a maximum bond level, which means it won't need to be tamed, and it even has four starts in each of its stats, which will make completing quests a whole lot easier.

Fierce Deity Armor

Rewards:

  • Fierce Deity Armor Set
  • Majora's Mask Paraglider Fabric
  • Knight's Broadsword
  • Mushrooms

Rather than just providing Link's classic tunic costume, the Majora's Mask Link Amiibo actually grants players the Fierce Deity outfit which is a callback to the mask in Majora's Mask which turned Link into his adult form. This is undoubtedly one of the most detailed outfits in the entire game, giving Link hollow white eyes and plenty of markings around his body that almost make him look like an entirely different person.

It also comes with the Fierce Deity Sword, which is a gigantic greatsword with an incredibly unique design that boasts an attack stat of 38, which can make quick work of both regular enemies and mini-bosses alike. As if this wasn't enough, there's also the Majora's Mask Paraglider Fabric, which spreads out the face of the deep purple mask over the surface, which is either terrifying or cute, depending on who you ask. As an added bonus, the beady yellow eyes of this fabric even shine in the dark, making it ideal for cruising into a cavern or deep cave at night.
