Tales of Arise is finally here, and the world is as vast as Tales regulars were hoping for, if not more. In a world that big, players have their work cut out for them when it comes to gathering items needed for specific upgrades and cooking. While the start of the story is on rails for the most part, as Alphen sets out further into Calaglia, the game gives fans a chance to start saving for a second act feature early with the introduction of Mining Points.

Most Tales games feature plenty of equipment for character builds and customization, but Tales of Arise is a bit more limited, instead focusing on upgrading accessories and building their skills. Crafting and building accessories require ore, which are available right as players fittingly get more freedom from the very first area.

Zionne Mine Tunnels' Mining Points

The Zionne Mine Tunnels are the first place the players start really experience everything Tales of Arise has to offer, finally giving them a world full of different paths to check out. While some paths may be blocked by story elements, the Tunnels will remain open once gamers get to explore the full world of Calaglia.

On the main path out of the mines, fans should reach a third room, and if they explore a space in the far right corner of that room, there should be a hefty Mining Point waiting.

Once Alphen reaches the surface outside of the mines, players should be able to notice two side paths that go on their left or right. The one on Alphen's left-hand side offers some ore for those who stop by.

The Mining Points in Sandinus Ravine

Sandinus Ravine is the first area where fans can experience making some choices and feeling the game out outside of the story. While Sandinus Ravine has four Mining Points to visit, it also offers the first ingredients in Tales of Arise. Like ingredients, Mining Points restore themselves once the player's been gone, so coming back for more is something players ought to keep in mind.

As fans leave the Zionne Mines behind, they should encounter an area with enemies, and an ivy ladder to their left. If they choose to climb it, they can follow the curve of the area above to find a Mining Point.

The second Mining Point in the area is easy to spot. When Shionne makes the party camp for the night, turning the camera or looking closely at the map should reveal a small area in-between cliffsides. Players can follow the sparkles on their screen to the next Mining Point.

When the game introduces the Giant Zeugles, fans have found the third Mining Point. They can use a sidepath alongside the rail players are encouraged to follow to get close to the Mantis. For beginning players, they don't need to fight the Mantis and it would be best if they don't, also. The Mantis is facing directly towards another secret crevice, which has the desired ore inside.

And finally, just before gamers finish up in Sandinus Ravine and head into Ulzebek, there's another Mining Point if they look to their left. It's guarded by some armadillo zeugles, also giving fans some easy EXP.

Mining Points are random on what they offer, even more so when it comes to the rarity of whatever players mine from them. Even though cooking is introduced fairly early in Tales of Arise, the game gives fans a reason to keep checking them, as Mining Spots will easily give trinkets that can be sold for Gald.

For those who are going without DLC Gald packs, the items are helpful for some quick cash. When it comes to what the rest of the Mining Point collectibles are used for, though, that will need to wait until players make it into Cyslodia.

Tales of Arise is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
