There are plenty of powerful weapons for Alphen in Tales of Arise, many of which can also be obtained in the Beyond the Dawn expansion. The Realm Unifier is one such weapon, though crafting this mighty blade will require a special item that can be a little tricky to obtain. At first glance, the Iron Pipe is fairly useless, though it actually plays an important role in Tales of Arise's main story.

Tales of Arise DLC: How Long to Beat Beyond the Dawn?

Beyond the Dawn promises Tales of Arise players a brand-new full length story, but how long does it take to beat and is it worth its high price tag?

As players will likely remember, Alphen arms himself with the Iron Pipe at the beginning of the game and uses it to take on a bunch of soldiers as he attempts to rescue Shionne. He's then able to find it again later on and use it to craft the Realm Unifier: Alphen's second most powerful weapon in the base version of Tales of Arise. Players can also craft the Realm Unifier in Beyond the Dawn, though the method for finding the Iron Pipe is different this time around.

How to Get the Iron Pipe in Beyond the Dawn

To get the Iron Pipe in Beyond the Dawn, players will need to head to the Training Ground in Viscint and then complete the Realm Unifier Solo Challenge with Alphen. Doing so in under eight minutes will reward them not only with the Iron Pipe, but also the other components needed to craft the Realm Unifier (four Ominous Eyeballs, two Cursed Claws, and five Blistering Fangs). Players will then be able to head to a blacksmith and craft the Realm Unifier for 20,800 Gauld. The recommended level for this challenge is 90, so players may need to do a little bit of grinding to increase Alphen's level before taking it on.

The Realm Unifier isn't the only weapon that can be obtained by completing a Training Ground Solo Challenge. Players will also be able to get the Monochrome Spiral (Shionne), the Oblivion Ring (Rinwell), the Unyielding Braces (Law), the Matriarch Martel (Kisara), and the Liber Pater (Dohalim). However, the components needed to craft all of these weapons can be purchased from merchants using Gauld, making the Iron Pipe the only component obtained exclusively via Training Ground challenges.

How to Get the Iron Pipe in the Base Version of the Game

In order to get the Iron Pipe in the base version of Tales of Arise, players will need to complete The Mysterious Pair sub-quest. This becomes available after players have completed A Healer and Her Patients and requires players to find the Iron Pipe in the northern part of the Iglia Wastes area of Calaglia. Assuming they have all of the other components needed, they'll then be able to craft the Realm Unifier by visiting any blacksmith.
