Tactics Ogre: Reborn – Most Important Choices In The Story

The story's direction in Tactics Ogre: Reborn depend heavily on the player's choices. Among them, these have the greatest impact on the game.

10 Warrior

A well balanced party in Tactics Ogre Reborn

The Warrior is basically the jack-of-all-trades class in the game. Warriors are solid in nearly every front. They have high strength which is supplemented by their powerful attack orientated skills. Might Strike in particular is always useful. Warriors also have the added benefit of using a ton of different weapons, be it one-handed swords with shields, two-handed swords, axes, or even fists. Their weapon variety makes them a useful class to use in any situation.

The Warrior's key weakness is that they aren't really excellent at anything, and do not have their own niche to operate in. Moreover, while their high damage is always appreciated, they aren't built for the frontline in the same way knights ares. Regardless, Warriors are a very useful class, especially in the early game.

9 Beast Tamer

Tactics Ogre Reborn Beast Tamer

The Beast Tamer class isn’t exceptional in combat, nor is it ultra tanky. However, it's special. The Beast Tamer class lets player recruit dragons, griffons, and pretty much every other beast class out there.

Beast Tamers can empower these beasts as well, making them even stronger. This class also has a variety of weapon options, available so its no slouch when it comes to combat either.

8 Witch/Warlock

Tactics Ogre Reborn Warlock

Witches are essentially sorcerers, but are better in every way possible. They have incredible offensive stats, and access to a variety of spells, far beyond what ordinary sorcerers can conjure up

Players don't have access to many unique characters in this class until later in the game, so it is also recommended to try and recruit any that appear in encounters. Additionally, this class can recruit golems, which is a nice addition.

7 Dragoon

Dragoon

This is another niche class. Dragoons have access to the beast-slayer and dragon-slayer skills, which makes them amazing at fighting these units. Those skills destroy the absolutely monstrous health bars these units possess.

Dragoons also boast solid stats across the board and are absolutely essential in later levels. Their inherent Dragons Bane and Beast Bane skills are also useful, so should the Dragoon be running short on MP, it can still dish out some notable damage. Dragoons also have the advantage of range, as they specialize primarily with spears and crossbows.

6 Knight

Tactics Ogre Reborn Knight

The Hnight is the most reliable and all-around solid class in the game. The can use a variety of weapons effectively, and have superb defensive stats. They can even use light magic, meaning they can heal units as well.

Choosing a weapon is essential for success in Tactics Ogre: Reborn. These are the best choices for getting up close and personal.

Knights have access to the phalanx and rampart aura skills, making them take lesser damage for a few turns and not letting enemies cross by them. This makes them extremely effective at soaking damage and baiting certain difficult units. Knights also unlock a skill later in the game that lets them divert damage from other units to themselves. This, in conjunction with the aforementioned skills makes them really useful. The only drawbacks to the Knight is that they’re a little slow.

5 Vartan

Tactics Ogre Reborn Vartan Skills

This is the class Canopus joins in. It's an extremely flexible class with excellent stats in pretty much every attribute. Vartans have high movement, can fly, and can even recruit fairies.

Vartans excel at using axes, bows, and hammers. They can do pretty much whatever task is assigned to them, from picking off squishes to front-lining or just rushing the boss.

4 Terror Knight

Tactics Ogre Reborn Terror Knight

Terror Knights are similar to Knights largely, but there are some key differences that make them better. They have access to fear related skills: Lament of the Dead and Fearful Impact. These make them excellent at making stubborn enemies more manageable, particularly bosses like Hector and Xaebos.

What makes Fearful Impact even better is the Terror Knight's access to two-handed great-swords. Some of these swords have added effects like Breach, which work really well at weakening enemies.

3 Ranger

Vyce Tactics Ogre Reborn

This is the class that Vyce rocks, and a couple of other unique units can access it too. This class is really fast, making it super useful. It can also double-attack like ninjas do and has access to dual wielding swords and daggers both.

Rangers can also use bows and have a variety of unique skills and spells, making them fantastic offensive outlives.

2 Rune Fencer

Tactics Ogre Reborn Rune Fencer

Rune Fencers got a massive glow-up compared to the previous iteration of this game. They use spears really well, and their access to crossbows and one-handed swords make them very useful at multiple ranges. What makes them special is their ability to use magic.

Rune Fencers also gain certain passive abilities that let their melee attacks deal additional elemental damage as well. They’re great at dealing damage at multiple different ranges. Coupled with this is their water traversal and high movement, which lets them cross the map with ease.

1 White Knight

Tactics Ogre Reborn Class List

White Knights are possibly the best class in the game. The only units that can access this are class excellent anyway: Ozma, Mirdyn Gildas, and Raveness. Additionally, the class has exceptional stats all around.

White Knights are everything good about the knight class, but they’re much faster too. Moreover, they have access to a wide variety of supportive white magic, making them even better.

Tactics Ogre: Reborn was released on November 11, 2022, and is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
