In order to make it out of your shipwreck ordeal safely, you will need to be crafty and resourceful in Survival: Fountain of Youth. To achieve this, players will need to be able to make use of the natural resources they find on the remote islands they explore and create tools and equipment to improve the quality of life.

In the early stages of the game, players will want to prioritize building a shelter from the weather and wildlife, then add a number of important work stations to enable them to craft more advanced equipment. One of the early work stations players will want to prioritize is the Carpentry Workbench, for the sake of improving their home and raft. To ensure this is possible, players will want to be knowledgeable on how to craft a Carpentry Workbench in Survival: Fountain of Youth.

The early game of Survival: Fountain of Youth can be made easier by choosing the right item from the tutorial chest. Here are the best options.

How To Craft A Carpentry Workbench

A Carpentry Workbench from Survival: Fountain of Youth

A Carpentry Workbench is an essential machine for players to craft in the early stages of Survival: Fountain of Youth, as it enables them the ability to craft some extremely valuable resources such as Big Branches and Builder Toolkits. The latter of these are of particular interest to players starting their survival journey, as they are a necessary component for constructing important features like houses, rafts, and a dock to secure your boat and fast-travel to.

A Carpentry Workbench can be constructed once players have acquired the three necessary resources to put it together. To do this, you'll first need to collect:

  • One Common Log
  • Six Small Sticks
  • Two Liana Ropes

With these items, players can build a Carpentry Workbench, which will take one hour and 48 minutes of in-game time to accomplish and will cost 20 points of axe durability. With this in mind, survival enthusiasts should give themselves enough time before night falls to construct this resource without using up valuable sleep time, and ensure their axe is adequately equipped to handle the job.

How To Get Small Sticks

Small Sticks are one of the easiest resources to acquire in Survival: Fountain of Youth, and can be found on many smaller trees throughout the islands. They are particularly easy to find on the Island of Hope, and have no tool requirements to harvest. Simply approach a tree, press the indicated button to interact with it, and select the number of Small Sticks you wish to harvest.

How To Get Common Logs

The first resource players will need in the pursuit of adding a Carpentry Workbench to their settlement is a Common Log. As the name would suggest, these are commonly found throughout the game and are relatively easy to acquire, provided you have the right tools.

To get a Common Log, players will need to approach any tree in the game and opt to cut it down, as opposed to harvesting it for its resources. This will require an axe to perform, but this is needed for a Carpentry Workbench anyway, so players should aim to craft one if they don't already have it. Alternatively, players may find a Common Log from a fallen tree, but cutting one down is more accessible and easier.

Because of their size, players are unable to carry Common Logs in their inventory. Instead, they will need to carry it on their shoulders to take it where they need to go. To use them, confirm the structure you want to build, approach the hologram of the structure, and press the indicated button to add the log to it.

How To Get Liana Rope

Liana Rope is the most difficult resource to find out of the three required for a Carpentry Workbench, but it is by no means a tough one to put together. To craft a Liana Rope, you will need to harvest Liana and Narrow Leaves.

Liana can be found on any big tree found in the game's many forests that have thick vines wrapped around its trunk, and can be harvested by approaching it and selecting the vine. Narrow Leaves are a component of palm and coconut trees and are easy to locate if you venture around the coastal areas of the islands, and can even be found loosely laying on the ground. With one of each of these resources, players can craft a Liana Rope from the Crafting menu.
