Nintendo has been eerily silent in recent weeks with respect to the highly-anticipated Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which is set for release in December. However, that's all about to change, as Nintendo just announced an impressively lengthy Super Smash Bros. Nintendo Direct.

Those eager for details regarding the latest entry in the storied Super Smash Bros. franchise will surely appreciate Nintendo's promise of "roughly 40 minutes of new information." Seeing as the most recent Smash Bros. Nintendo Direct was almost three months ago, it's no surprise this next one will be the last before the game's release on December 7. As such, there's likely to be some pretty substantial news revealed over the event's run time.

As expected, Nintendo isn't giving any clues about what to expect from the event. Fortunately, they also aren't making anyone wait too long to find out. The event will begin November 1 at 7:00 AM Pacific Time, 10:00 AM Eastern Time, with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Director Masahiro Sakurai hosting. Those looking to tune in to the presentation live will want to head over to Nintendo's website and click over to the Nintendo Direct page.

Much of the public's knowledge of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is based on leaks and rumors, so it should be refreshing to learn so much about the title straight from Nintendo's mouth. The most recent significant information drop came by way of leaked promotional materials which seemed to confirm seven new fighters.

Everything that's come out so far suggests that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be by far the largest entry in the series in terms of scale. Nintendo confirmed earlier this year that every fighter from the series' history will be playable, and reports suggest that there could be as many as 108 stages.
