Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has finally delivered on its promised ARMS fighter reveal. Though at first many weren't too excited about this character, the implementation has proven to be rather interesting and very unique, meaning Min Min, the new fighter, may get some more attention than most initially thought.

Originally, it was believed that the new ARMS fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate would be Spring Man, as he is often considered the protagonist of the series, but Min Min won out nonetheless. Her unique fighting style is sure to keep players on their toes when playing or facing off against her, though.

Min Min is particularly distinguished from the other fighters in the game because her control scheme works differently. Rather than having the "A" button for normal attacks and the "B" button for special attacks, they control her left and right arms respectively. This allows for some crazy combos from talented players.

Obviously, the main focus of Min Min as a character is her spring-like arms, which allow her to perform a variety of attacks at very long range. Sakurai himself points out that, while she is great at spacing and fighting heavy characters, she struggles against aerial enemies and in close combat. Even so, the versatility provided by her ability to switch out ARMS at will is rivaled by none, and will certainly shake up the competitive scene a bit. Players wanting to master Min Min will need dedication and coordination, as they're basically going to be controlling two attack methods at once.

Min Min's forward tilt and smash attacks make use of her ARMS, and can be fired off in either direction and even angled up or down. Depending on which ARMS is equipped in the right hand, the effect will be different. The standard Dragon ARM works the same way as Min Min's left arm and is pretty standard. The Ramram is a ring like weapon which is much faster and hits a wider range but deals less damage. Finally, the Megawatt is a large spiked ball which is predictably slow but heavy hitting. These ARMS can be changed out at will by using the down special. The up special is also unique, as it provides a fast jump while on the ground but acts as a ledge tether recovery when in the air.

Min Min's down smash, aerial attacks, and jab all use kicks rather than punches, and provide quick, close combat options should things get hairy and the spacing fails. She is also able to deflect ranged attacks with her kick, which can be used to catch opponents off guard. Min Min has many other ways in which she functions differently from other fighters, so it will take a lot of time for players to get used to this character.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is adding Min Min from ARMS on June 30.
