[The official 4th DLC fighter for Smash has been officially revealed. The original story follows.]

Microsoft's Banjo-Kazooie will be joining the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate later this fall, but after their addition, there are still two DLC characters on the Fighters Pass currently left to be revealed. Prior Super Smash Bros. Ultimate leaks have indicated that, following every fighter currently known, could potentially be DOOM Guy from DOOM, Steve from Minecraft, or Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden. Now, a reputable leaker has followed up.

IAmShifty, who has leaked reliable information in the past such as the addition of Piranha Plant, claims to know who will follow Banjo-Kazooie as an addition to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. In other words, he's claiming that slot 4 on the Fighter Pass will be the aforementioned Ryu Hayabusa. Assuming the information is true, this means that fans of Ninja Gaiden can now know when to expect the character, and IAmShifty even hinted at the reveal of Ryu Hayabusa.

The leaker said that, whenever Nintendo reveals Super Smash Bros. Ultimate info next, it'll be the reveal of Ryu Hayabusa, and he used a Nintendo Direct as an example. Interestingly enough, rumors have indicated that there would be a Direct sometime next week, so Ryu's announcement and Banjo-Kazooie's precise release date could be coming soon.

On the other hand, the Nintendo Direct could be taking a look at something outside Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Link's Awakening is coming out later this month and would be a prime contender to dominate the Direct, but even more so, many are expecting Overwatch to be announced for the Nintendo Switch. Considering the merch that has leaked, this seems to be a highly likely scenario.

Whether IAmShifty is right or not will be revealed alongside the next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate character, which should happen sooner rather than later, but there are a ton of theories out there that exclude Ryu. For example, because of the aforementioned potential crossover, many think that Tracer is coming to Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is out now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
