It's a bittersweet day for Super Smash Bros Ultimate fans. Last week during Nintendo's summer direct presentation, the company revealed that the final DLC character would be revealed in an all new presentation from director Masahiro Sakurai. Shockingly, the development of Super Smash Bros Ultimate has been ongoing for about 6 years at this point, thank in large part to the continued updates and DLC support.
As it stands, development on Super Smash Bros Ultimate is finally coming to an end with the final DLC character, though there is no doubt going to be plenty of fans left disappointed that their favorite character didn't make the cut. For what seems like years, characters like Waluigi, Geno, and even Dante from Devil May Cry were heavily rumored as future season pass additions, though as fans now know, that just wasn't the case. However, Sakurai was able to accomodate these requests a little bit by the inclusion of new Mii Costumes.
One fan favorite rumor was the DOOM Slayer from Bethesda and id Software's iconic franchise, DOOM. While there were no shortage of rumors and speculation for Doomguy to join the mainline Smash Bros roster, in the end it wasn't meant to be. However, the DOOM Slayer did technically make the final cut through the 11th round of Mii Fighter costumes for the gunner class. Doomguy joins other Bethesda franchise mascots like Fallout Boy and Dovahkiin from the Elder Scrolls: Skyrim.
In addition to Doomguy, Mii Fighter costume pack 11 includes two other outfits as well both from Nintendo's Splatoon series. The first is a wig that can be used, meant to make the Mii Fighter look like an Octoling. Similarly, the other item is a hat made to look like the cat judge Judd. Interested Super Smash Bros Ultimate players can grab this outfit pack on October 18 for $0.75 each.
While that should satisfy some fans who wanted the iconic character in the game, it looks like the most recent Super Smash Bros Ultimate rumor turned out to be true. Sora, the main protagonist from the Kingdom Hearts franchise, is the final character to join the expansive roster of fighters. Armed with is iconic keyblade, Sora is able to dish out significant damage and looks to have great recovery for getting back on the stage. Surprisingly, Sakurai opted not to showcase Sora's final smash, instead wanting players to experience it for themselves when the fighter launches later this month.
