Universal Orlando recently shared new images of its upcoming Super Nintendo World attraction under construction ahead of its planned opening next year, giving fans a look at the park’s layout. Universal Japan and Universal Hollywood have already found great success with their Super Nintendo World areas, which take players into the colorful Super Mario Bros. universe with themed rides, characters, and restaurants inspired by Nintendo’s legendary platforming franchise.

A third Super Nintendo World location was announced to be coming to Universal Orlando back in 2019, though it would eventually be delayed from its initially planned 2024 opening due to construction issues brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. This new attraction will be part of Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe theme park, and will include a new Donkey Kong-themed roller coaster ride in addition to attractions based on Super Mario and Mario Kart. Last month, Universal Orlando showed off its Epic Universe in an exciting trailer that gave fans a small taste of what to expect when its version of Super Nintendo World opens its doors next year.

Now, Universal Orlando has released new photos of its upcoming Super Nintendo World attraction via Theme Park Insider. As shown in these candid images, the Super Nintendo World features a Mario-themed gate, which leads to various rides and exhibits inspired by famous levels from both Super Mario Bros. and Mario Kart. The locations these attractions are modeled after include Princess Peach’s Castle, Bowser’s Castle, and the grassy green landscape that often serves as the first level in many Mario games. At the back of the park is the aforementioned Donkey Kong expansion.

This Donkey Kong area reportedly has some extra space next to it, which many think could lead to more attractions being added to Super Nintendo World Orlando in the future. There are already rumors of Pokemon and The Legend of Zelda expansions being planned for Super Nintendo World, which until now has remained solely focused on games and characters from the Mario and Donkey Kong universes.

No concrete opening date for Universal Orlando’s Super Nintendo World has been announced, save for a vague 2025 window. However, the park itself seems to be coming along nicely according to these photos of the park's construction. If all goes well, fans will be able to explore the colorful sights and sounds of Super Nintendo World as part of Universal Orlando’s new Epic Universe attraction next year.
