Rose Town Hidden Treasure Chest #1

Although the region itself includes Tadpole Pond and the surrounding area, the first hidden treasure chest does not turn up until the player reaches Rose Town. This chest is located within the town's Item Shop, floating over a set of shelves in the northern corner of the room. Players can also grab an additional treasure chest by climbing up boxes outside the shop and entering via the chimney.

The other hidden treasure chest in Rose Town can be found in the Toad's house atop the hill in the northwestern part of town. Inside, the chest can be found upstairs by jumping on the bed, though it may take a few bounces to hit it just right.

If players have not yet restored the stairs up to the house, they can get up to it by jumping on the Toad's head, as demonstrated in the video above. As thanks for activating the switch to the stairs, the Toad will give Mario directions to a secret treasure room within the Forest Maze.

Likewise, the fourth hidden treasure chest is located in the stump directly west of the third chest's stump. Alternatively, if the clearing is viewed as two parallel lines of stumps from the entrance, players should enter the second/middle stump in the leftmost line.

The fourth chest is located just northwest of the spring but holds no treasure, instead giving the player a "Bad Luck" message.

The chest is located behind the sleeping Wiggler that players must wake to continue deeper into the forest. If players have already awoken the Wiggler, they can still return to the cave to access the hidden treasure chest.

The sixth and final hidden treasure chest in the Forest Maze can be found immediately after navigating the Forest Maze Junction area before reaching the Save Block. The chest is located just left of the entrance to this area.

Pipe Vault Hidden Treasure Chest #1 and #2

The last two hidden treasure chests of the Tadpole Pond region are both located in the same room of the Pipe Vault. Players should progress through the area until they reach the line of several green pipes and enter the second pipe to reach the room with the tricky Frog Coin.

As shown in the video above, players need to jump just before the floating platform to reveal a hidden block. Mario is able to climb up this block to the top, where the two chests are hiding in line with the visible one. Both contain even more Frog Coins for the player to collect.
