A new LEGO Super Mario set featuring the iconic Super Mario Piranha Plant has been revealed and will be released on November 6. Over the years, the company has gotten creative with the types of sets that it has been releasing whether it be with other video game IPs such as Sonic the Hedgehog and Horizon Forbidden West, or sets from its Architecture series.

The LEGO Super Mario sets are one of the most successful collaborations for the business. With how well these are doing for the company and Nintendo as well, it's expected that more Super Mario sets are planned to be released in the future. To put an emphasis on how the possibilities can be endless for the series, the main antagonist from the Super Mario series, Bowser, received a 14-foot-tall LEGO statue that was displayed at San Diego Comic-Con last year.

Much like the previously announced Super Mario Starter LEGO sets, the Piranha Plant price is set to be $59.99. The set itself is interactive as it has an adjustable stalk, leaves, and mouth, imitating the way that it moves up and down in the Super Mario games. There are a total of 540 pieces making up the deadly plant. One of the unique features that’s included with the set is that it comes with a few iconic gold coins from the Super Mario series that owners can “feed” to the plant.

Lego Super Mario Piranha Plant Lego Set

Compared to other Super Mario LEGO collections like the Super Mario The Mighty Bowser set, the Piranha Plant is a fairly simple set to add to any collection. For any fan who’s looking to add more Super Mario sets to their stockpile along with the Piranha Plant, there are plenty of other Super Mario series to acquire as LEGO’s collaboration with Nintendo has been going on for years now. The Super Mario Starter sets are a great example as they may not have many breaking the bank, unlike the giant Super Mario Question Block which is priced at $169.99.

There’s no telling what iconic character from the series will make a blocky appearance in the future. Whether they have a $269.99 price point similar to The Mighty Bowser set or are priced around $59.99 like the Piranha Plant remains to be seen.
