Namco arcade games have been available on nearly every platform since the Sega Genesis. The Pac-Man monopoly set even came with a playable copy of the dot-munching game. It has been a little harder to access classic Data East arcade games over the last few decades, but it looks like that is set to change now that Ziggurat Interactive and 612Games are bringing 15 Data East games to GOG.

A few of the games coming to PC via GOG are available on other current-gen platforms. The original BurgerTime is available on Switch for instance, but many others such as Heavy Barrel haven't seen an official release since a 2010 Wii port. Ziggurat describes in its mission statement that it aims to "remember, remaster, and re-release games from the annals of history," and it certainly looks like the company is doing just that.

The first eight games in the batch include the above mentioned Super BurgerTime as well as classics like Joe & Mac - Caveman Ninja, Express Raider, and Bad Dudes, which will drop on March 3 at 33 percent off. The Data East gems join other vintage games on GOG as the platform continues to expand its library. Last September several classic Konami titles were released on GOG, and the platform hosts hundreds of other hits from yesteryear including Commander Keen and Jazz Jackrabbit.

These Data East games are merely the latest nostalgic release. Blizzard released a cross-platform combo pack of retro titles called the Blizzard Arcade Collection earlier this month, and Disney Interactive has similarly re-released its classic Aladdin and Lion King games. Fans who have been waiting for official Data East releases, though, are finally getting their wish thanks to GOG.
