The summer months have arrived, and with them, the summer gaming showcase season. Having already kicked things off in late May with the 2023 PlayStation Showcase, the 2023 Summer Game Fest hosted by Geoff Keighley is fast approaching. Gamers everywhere are anticipating the June 8 showing, which will be a partially in-person event streamed to the rest of the world. As Summer Game Fest has taken over E3's position for 2023, many have high hopes for the content of this show.

So far, several confirmations have already come out for the Summer Game Fest kickoff. A number of high-profile games, among other titles, have been confirmed to have trailers, interviews, and even direct gameplay footage at the show. This is in addition to the list of over forty partner companies for 2023's Summer Game Fest, though it's ambiguous whether this means they'll just participate in events affiliated with Summer Game Fest or in the opening conference itself. Regardless, there's going to be a lot of games coming to this year's show, even if some of them just turn out to be rumors.

Everything Confirmed To Be At Summer Game Fest

As the date of Summer Game Fest approaches, the number of confirmed appearances at the show has been growing rapidly. Just recently, it was announced that Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3, which will have a "Wilds" theme, will see a full reveal at Summer Game Fest. EA's Immortals of Aveum will also be present, as will the new MMO Throne and Liberty. A trailer for the third season of Netflix's The Witcher will also air during the proceedings, signaling that while the focus will be on games, there will be some exceptions like The Last of Us TV show's appearance in 2022.

Many titles have been advertising their appearance at the Summer Game Fest for a while now, and one of the most notable is Cyberpunk 2077. Its Phantom Liberty expansion should be shown off in detail, and may even get a firm release date. Alan Wake 2 will also have its first gameplay premiere at this show, just after having been revealed at the recent PlayStation Showcase. Mortal Kombat 1 has similar intent to show its first gameplay at Summer Game Fest, and official channels related to both have been hyping this reveal up. Finally, Baldur's Gate 3 will have another trailer in the lead up to its launch later this summer.

That's it for the larger games confirmed right now, but more are coming out all the time. Some miscellaneous titles have also confirmed their intent to appear at Summer Game Fest, such as the bizarre semi-satirical open-world Pokemon-like Palworld. Lies of P, a Pinocchio-inspired Soulslike, has also alluded to appearing at the showcase. Teases could keep dropping up to the beginning of the conference, so paying close attention to Summer Game Fest's social media accounts is the best way to keep up with them.

Games Rumored To Appear At Summer Game Fest

Summer Game Fest x Kojima

Of course, there's going to be more at the two hour-long Summer Game Fest Showcase than what's been revealed. With over forty partners involved, there's no telling what exactly to expect, but attentive fans have some ideas. One easy guess is that Kojima Productions will feature in some way. Hideo Kojima has a history of appearing at Geoff Keighley's events, even if his recent projects are largely associated with PlayStation or Xbox. Whether fans will see Death Stranding 2, the Xbox project tentatively titled Overdose, something new, or nothing at all will be revealed soon.

Another common presence at Geoff Keighley's shows is titles from the duo of FromSoftware and Bandai Namco. This year, FromSoftware has its newest title Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon set to release in August, so fans strongly suspect it will appear at the show. Attendees of the live Summer Game Fest event may even get a chance to try it for themselves if that's the case. Some are also curious as to the chances Elden Ring's DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, has of appearing at Summer Game Fest. While it does not have a release date yet and is rumored to come out in 2024, its development could have progressed enough for some preliminary details to be outlined.

Call of Duty fans are also waiting for the announcement of their next game, rumored to be titled Modern Warfare 3. It missed its traditional May reveal time slot, so it could appear at Summer Game Fest. That said, Xbox and Activision may have made prior plans to hold the game back until the Xbox Games Showcase a few days later. Sifting through rumors regarding Summer Game Fest itself is difficult with the Xbox Games Showcase nearby, which may end up being where rumored projects like a Persona 3 remake could be revealed. Despite that, it sounds like both conferences should have more than enough games to justify themselves.

With the announcement of Metal Gear Solid Delta and a new HD collection, Konami could appear at Summer Game Fest with news on its Metal Gear games, Silent Hill projects, or even a rumored Castlevania title. Further Metal Gear news isn't likely given that the PlayStation Showcase just happened, but it would be nice to finally complete the revival trifecta with Castlevania. A couple more probable appearances include the reveal of Final Fantasy 16's leaked demo and one of Digital Extremes' projects. Linked Twitch accounts can receive a free Styanax Warframe Drop, so either Warframe itself or another DE title like Soulframe could show up. With all of this potential for the Summer Game Fest and its associated events, it's a good thing that fans don't have long to wait for the festivities to begin.

Summer Game Fest will take place on June 8.
