June is almost here and in the video game industry that means big events and even bigger announcements. Before E3 2021 arrives, however, Geoff Keighley will be bringing back his Summe Game Fest event for the second year running. This year's event will start on June 10 with a major showcase presentation. To titillate fans about the premiere for Summer Game Fest, Keighley shared some early details including how long the event will run and how many world premieres fans can expect.

The key detail is, of course, how many world premieres to look forward to. Each premier being a potential major announcement or something uniquely special, it's no surprise this is a number fans always ask for. As such, Keighley was more than happy to confirm that this year's Summer Game Fest will feature at least a dozen different premieres. "At least" because Keighley is likely working with partners to potentially include more, but only twelve are certainties at this point.

If only to show that this isn't going to be a rushed event with very small reveals, Keighley also confirmed a general idea of this year's Summer Game Fest runtime. He says that the premiere show for this year's event will be around two hours long. That's obviously a lot of time to show off a huge variety of games without having to rush anything. Keighley did compare it in nature to his other presentations, Gamescom Opening Night Live and The Game Awards.

The two hours of Summer Game Fest presentation are going to be spent on more than just a dozen or more world premieres, of course. There will be many more games than that, but they won't all be major reveals or announcements. In fact, Keighley has already confirmed that the event will feature "20 or 30" games throughout the show.

Thirty-three partners have since been confirmed to be a part of the Summer Game Fest. "Most" of them will participate in the kick-off show, but Keighley says some will have separate events later on. The Summer Game Fest isn't solely this single event, after all. It's just the start. Last year's Summer Game Fest lasted multiple months. It's unclear how long 2021's event will last.

Keighley also takes a moment to remind fans to maintain healthy expectations. Keep in mind that the pandemic is still in full force and that many teams are delaying their games, and so they won't have big announcements this year. Further, E3 2021 is just days after the Summer Game Fest showcase event, so many publishers may be saving their reveals for that. Better to go in with healthy expectations and be blown away than have unrealistic expectations and be disappointed.

The Summer Game Fest starts June 10.
