Every June, gamers look forward to E3. The biggest gaming event of the year, E3 is where the major announcements and reveals happen, and with next-generation consoles on the horizon, E3 2020 was set to be one of the most exciting yet. Unfortunately, the ongoing coronavirus pandemic forced the Entertainment Software Association to cancel E3 2020, throwing the game industry into a bit of chaos.

While E3 2020 has been canceled, The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley has stepped up to better organize the slew of new game announcements that will be coming this summer under the Summer Game Fest umbrella. The first month of Summer Game Fest saw some big announcements, like the Valorant release date, as well as the reveal of new games, including Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 and some of the first Xbox Series X console exclusives.

But while May saw some big Summer Game Fest announcements, June is set to be have even more events and game reveals. Here are all the Summer Game Fest events announced for June so far, and what each one could bring to the table.

PS5: The Future of Gaming (June 4)

Summer Game Fest is kicking off June with what is likely to be the biggest event of the entire month. On June 4 at 1:00pm PT, Sony will finally be pulling the curtain back on PlayStation 5 games, showing off titles that will be available for the next-generation console at launch and within its launch window. This event is expected to be over an hour long, making it one of the longest Summer Game Fest events so far, and it is sure to be home to some massive, E3-level announcements.

Rumors have been swirling about what Sony will possibly be showing at the PS5 event on June 4. There will almost certainly be PlayStation exclusives on hand, with rumors pointing to a possible reveal of Horizon: Zero Dawn 2. Major third-party games are also likely to be in attendance, with some industry insiders and leakers pointing to a reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War taking place at the June 4 event.

Regardless, it will be exciting to see more PlayStation 5 games, though fans may have to wait to learn the PS5 price, release date, and other details about Sony's new console.

Guerrilla Collective (June 6)

Hosted by Kinda Funny Games' Greg Miller, the Guerrilla Collective will be a digital event mainly focused on showcasing indie games. However, the Guerrilla Collective will be showing more than just indie games in June. It's also been confirmed that Baldur's Gate 3 will be on hand as well, being pushed as the headlining game for the event. Those interested can tune in on June 6 at 10am PT to see everything that the Guerrilla Collective has to showcase.

PC Gaming Show (June 6)

The PC Gaming Show has been a staple of E3 since 2015, giving PC games a much-need presence at the event. Admittedly, the PC Gaming Show announcements have been comparably low-key compared to the console makers, but the show seems to get more exciting each year. The PC Gaming Show may not be happening at E3 this year, but the event is still on as part of Summer Game Fest, and so PC gamers should tune in on June 6 at 12pm PT for all the announcements.

Steam Game Festival: Summer Edition (June 9 - 14)

While events like E3 are exciting, the downside is that most gamers don't actually get to play the demos being showcased. The Steam Game Festival is looking to change that by giving fans a chance to try demos of a variety of new games that will be released on Steam later in 2020. The Steam Game Festival isn't a singular press conference or showcase, but rather multi-day event that lets players get their hands on new games early.

This year may be especially exciting, as EA is likely to show its big games running on next-generation consoles, including its big sports franchises and more. There's also some hope that Dragon Age 4 will be shown at EA Play, though it's unclear exactly how far along that game is in development.

Developer Showcase: June (June 22)

Rumors are swirling that Sega has a big announcement planned for June, and such an announcement will most likely take place at the New Game+ Expo on June 23 at 8am PT. It's possible that fans will get their first look at the next Sonic the Hedgehog game on top of Sega's big announcement, whatever that may be, so fans of the Blue Blur will definitely want to tune in.

As for Atlus, there are rumors that Persona 6 could be at the New Game+ Expo. Even if it's not, though, fans should be able to look forward to new Atlus game announcements at the event regardless.

It's worth pointing out that new Summer Game Fest events for May were announced throughout the month, so it's likely that something similar will happen in June. One such unannounced event could be the June Xbox 20/20 event, as Microsoft has promised an Xbox Series X-themed event every month for the rest of the year. The Xbox Series X game reveal event won't be happening until July, but perhaps Xbox fans will still get some exciting news in June.
