Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League features the possible deaths of many of the DC Universe’s most famous heroes, but a newly discovered Easter egg hints that the small-time villain Kite Man may have met his own grisly end. Nearly a decade after the releases of Batman: Arkham Knight and Batman: Arkham VR, Rocksteady Studios has returned to its Arkhamverse franchise for Suicide Squad, which shifts the spotlight toward Task Force X as they embark on the dangerous assignment of eliminating the members of the Justice League after they are taken over by the evil Brainiac.

Just as the later Batman: Arkham games gave players an open-world version of Gotham City to explore as the Dark Knight, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League presents a sandbox take on Superman’s home of Metropolis that has become a warzone in the wake of Brainiac’s invasion. This sandbox is filled with enemies to battle and side missions to complete, but eagle-eyed players have been spotting some interesting DC-related Easter eggs while out on patrol. For example, some fans might notice a brainwashed Batman spying on them from afar, while others have discovered street art referencing possible Suicide Squad DLC characters like Deathstroke or Peacemaker.

If a recent post from Reddit user onebadluvguru is of any indication, there is one DC supervillain who won’t be joining the cast of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League anytime soon. Onebadluvguru was exploring Suicide Squad’s open world as Harley Quinn when they came across a broken green kite hanging on a wall with a splatter of blood beside it. This kite is a likely reference to minor Batman villain Kite Man, and other users in r/Suicide SquadGaming have been drawing morbid theories about how the small-time crook might have fatally crashed into the wall sometime before Brainiac’s invasion began.

Kite Man Might Already Be Dead in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Kite Man's video game appearances have been relatively minimal, with him only popping up as a playable character in LEGO DC Super-Villains and DC Legends. Charles "Chuck" Brown (who is named after the Peanuts character) first appeared in the pages of Batman #133 in August 1960 and has since been regarded as a joke character due to his primary gimmick of using kites and kite-themed weaponry in his crimes. Outside of gaming, Kite Man recently had a recurring role in the Harley Quinn animated series, and is set to receive his own spin-off show titled Kite Man: Hell Yeah! on Max sometime later this year.

While Kite Man’s fortunes on the small screen have been looking up over the past few years, his incarnation in the Arkhamverse might not have been so lucky. Suicide Squad's open world is filled with fun references to the larger DC universe, and it looks like Kite Man flew his last kite before the game's story. Hopefully, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s alternate universe version of the Joker has a much easier time of things when he is added as the game’s first DLC character in March.
