Highlights

  • Green Lantern's powers in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League need to be fully explored to provide a unique experience that sets him apart from other members of the League.
  • The Green Lantern ring's potential is immense, allowing for the creation of various constructs limited only by the wielder's imagination.
  • Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League should showcase the dangerous potential of a corrupted Green Lantern and highlight the threat he poses under Brainiac's control.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has given fans a look at Green Lantern in a trailer, and it needs to follow through in the final product. While every member of the Justice League is powerful, Green Lantern stands out in a way that practically warrants a certain approach in the game. While Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is expected to pay proper respect to the whole League, it must be particularly careful when it comes to designing an encounter around Green Lantern. He could provide an experience that no other member of the league can offer.

As the most important members of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's cast aside from the squad themselves, there is a lot of pressure to do right by the Justice League. While they are brainwashed by Brainiac, they still have the same powers that they normally would. The difference is that this time, players will be on the receiving end of what these heroes can do without any of their normal limits or morals. From appearances so far, it looks like this will lead to some terrifying fights with the League, raising the question of whether the squad will have to live up to the game's title.

The Green Lantern John Stewart doesn't normally operate out of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's Metropolis, but he's been confirmed as a part of the story. In the latest trailer, players got the sight of him creating a massive projected body and firing an equally large gatling gun at the squad while also sending out mines and missile batteries. So far, it seems like a decent show of his powers, good for hyping up fans in a trailer. However, there is a lot more that John could potentially do, and hopefully, the game will show the full extent of his powers.

The Green Lanterns have access to one of the DC Universe's best abilities, although the fact that Green Lantern hasn't had a standalone game since the ill-fated film adaptation may have caused some players to forget. The Green Lantern ring can create almost any construct, with the only limit being the wielder's imagination. The ring's potential is astronomical, especially with a highly creative wielder. As a veteran Green Lantern, John has mastered its abilities and is well-versed in the benefits that it holds in combat. In combat, a creative Green Lantern is one of the most powerful and unpredictable opponents that DC has to offer.

Green Lantern rings' main restraint is that they normally can't kill directly, although that may not be the case in Suicide Squad: KTJL under Brainiac's control.

Green Lantern has managed to create constructs that are both absurd and unexpected, not just simple weapons. Even though Suicide Squad: KTJL's titular antagonists are more brutal under Brainiac's control, John should do more than just fire bullets and explosives. His ring could create all kinds of obstacles and traps for the squad to overcome, or even generate entire hordes of enemies to fight. Any mission related to him could see him wreaking havoc with new constructs, even beyond his boss battle. An unrestrained Green Lantern is the perfect excuse to show off the absolute limits of what his ring is capable of.

The Green Lantern ring can create almost any construct, with the only limit being the wielder's imagination.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will have to show exactly why each member of the Justice League would be such a big threat under Brainiac's control. If Suicide Squad: KTJL is to succeed, it will largely be off the back of these encounters. Green Lantern is an especially notable case since his ring's power of creation provides so many possibilities for interesting fights and missions. While he's not the Justice League's heaviest hitter, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League should show how dangerous a Green Lantern gone bad can be.
