This article contains MAJOR spoilers for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

With a name like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, it shouldn't be much of a surprise to fans that Rocksteady's latest game includes more than its fair share of death. While Rocksteady's past games have included a handful of grisly main character deaths, they tend to be few and far between, but that isn't the case with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

Over the course of its fairly brief 10-hour story, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League forces players to witness a total of seven major character deaths, five of which they actively take part in. If there's one thing the Suicide Squad team is known for across all mediums, it's violent deaths, and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League doesn't disappoint, at least for the most part.

The Justice League has a long comic history, and it's only natural for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League to take inspiration from some of it.

Every Major Character Death in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Lex Luthor Is Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's First Major Casualty

While his assistant is technically the first on-screen death in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Lex Luthor is the first major character death in the entire game. Tasked with hunting down Lex Luthor to recruit him to the Support Squad, Task Force X is frozen in time by one of Lex's traps, but is soon accidentally set free by a brainwashed Flash, who proceeds to beat Lex within an inch of his life. Lex eventually uses an anti-Speed Force device to knock The Flash away, but the speedster returns with a vengeance, ripping out the iconic villain's heart in a split second.

The Flash Is The Suicide Squad's First Big Kill

Following Lex Luthor's death, The Flash jumps to the top of Task Force X's hit list. After receiving some anti-Speed Force devices from Toyman, the Suicide Squad set out to take down The Flash, with Captain Boomerang luring the turned-hero out of hiding. Using their anti-Speed Force devices, the Suicide Squad are able to riddle The Flash with bullets, resulting in his death.

Green Lantern Is The Next to Bite the Squad's Bullets

After a brief stint on Earth-2, Task Force X returns to their home dimension and immediately set about taking down Green Lantern. The Squad finds a Yellow Lantern hidden in Batman's underground bank vault hideout, and use it to supercharge their weapons and break Green Lantern's will-based constructs. The Suicide Squad confronts Green Lantern and, much like Flash, overwhelms him with weaponry. As he's lying on the ground incapacitated, Deadshot takes his revenge, putting Green Lantern down for good.

Wonder Woman Is Burned Alive By Superman

The only member of the Justice League to escape Brainiac's brainwashing, Wonder Woman pops up throughout Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, unable to force herself to kill her friends. After an intense and prolonged battle with Superman, Wonder Woman manages to stab the Man of Steel directly in the chest with a piece of Kryptonite, though it barely seems to effect him. Superman stands back up, fires up his heat vision, and burns Wonder Woman to death.

Harley Quinn Executes Batman

By far the most controversial death in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Batman also falls at the hands of Task Force X. Following a fight against his Scarecrow fear toxin-induced Demon Bat form, the Suicide Squad capture Batman and bring him to Lex Luthor in an attempt to scan his brain and discover more about Brainiac's plans. After Lex is done with him, the Squad uses Batman to lure out the final member of the Justice League, Superman. The team takes Batman to Centennial Park, and Harley Quinn executes him.

Superman Is The Last Justice League Member to Fall

With some Gold Kryptonite in hand, and the former-hero still recovering from his earlier wounds, the Suicide Squad feel confident about their chances against Superman. After a disappointingly short boss fight, Superman succumbs to the team's attacks and dies rather unceremoniously.

The Suicide Squad Finish This Fight By Killing Brainiac

With the entire Justice League wiped from existence, the Suicide Squad have just one adversary left to take down, the big bad himself, Brainiac. Assaulting his fortress, Task Force X decides to take Brainiac on in a direct fight, and the Coluan uses the Flash's DNA to turn himself into a speedster. Despite that, Brainiac doesn't stand much of a chance against the Suicide Squad's endgame gear, and he's captured and taken back to The Hall of Justice, where Amanda Waller finishes him off by sticking a data spike in his brain. But Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is far from over, with another 12 Brainiacs apparently out there, somewhere in the multiverse.
