It seems as though the love isn’t fully shared among the characters in Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League. The new Battle Pass for the popular third-person shooter includes new features for several of its titular anti-heroes, but curiously leaves one out to dry.

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League’s Season 1 update was released on March 28, allowing players to utilize the Joker. While the Joker’s presence and new missions are welcome, the season’s corresponding Battle Pass has raised some eyebrows. The Battle Pass is strictly cosmetic, including new Emotes, Banners, Swatches, and some premium currency. Notably missing in the added features for the Suicide Squad are any new skins for Captain Boomerang.

Captain Boomerang Gets Snubbed in Suicide Squad: KTJL's Battle Pass

Boomerang is one of the most likable characters in Kill The Justice League. His throwing abilities unmatched, Boomerang zips through Kill The Justice League with a hatred for the Flash and an amusing Australian brogue. The skins available for Boomerang in the initial iteration of Kill The Justice League feel in step with the popular character's more colorful side. These include a Flash Gordon-inspired "Oldie But Goodie" outfit, a Union Jack-emblazoned "Aussie!!" outfit, and a "Captain Flash-erang" outfit, a cheeky nod to Boomerang's arch nemesis.

Battle Pass Features in Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League

Yet despite the love for Captain Boomerang's wardrobe in the game's first release, the Battle Pass for Season 1 of Kill The Justice League gives the Australian menace the cold shoulder. As part of the DLC roll-out that includes the Joker, the most recent Battle Pass makes available several skins, banners, and emotes. Several of the skins offered in the Battle Pass are fantastic. There are several humorous skins for the Joker, including the minimalist "Dork Knight" (coming in a variety of pastels), and the "Feelin' Ruff" outfit, complete with a fedora and Elizabethan neck ruff.

"The Battle Pass in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be cosmetics-only, have both a Premium and free track, and a new Battle Pass will be released with each Season." - Rocksteady.

As outlined by Rocksteady, the Suicide Squad Battle Pass unlocks more content as players complete different tiers in each Season. Later tiers for the Battle Pass unleash Heavy Armor skins for Harley Quinn and Deadshot, as well as WayneTech weapons and gear for those characters (Deadshot is afforded a new Stealth look). A WayneTech "Prime Capabilities" skin for the Joker includes a blue and yellow color palette, while Tier 33 unleashes a new jetpack for Deadshot.

The running theme here is clear. While quite a bit of attention is paid to new skins for Joker, Harley Quinn, and Deadshot, there's very little given to King Shark and Captain Boomerang. Tier 69 at least grants King Shark a Detective Mode and Endearing Capabilities armor skin, while Tier 72 gives him a WayneTech cuff. Still, even with the paltry attention given to King Shark, one can't ignore the Australian elephant in the room.

Captain Boomerang Deserves More Battle Pass Content

The Battle Pass for Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League at least includes emotes for Boomerang. Some were recently added on days ago, such as the "Get A Load of This" pack and "Big Announcements" Pack. Others are also relegated to the passing of different Tiers. The first Tier includes a "Show Pony" pose for Captain Boomerang. Tier 2 unlocks a sarcastic emote for Boomerang, while Tier 8 affords Boomerang an Insult expression. Tier 30 includes the defeated "All Shook Up" pose for Boomerang. Tier 42 comes with the most delicious emote, a purely Australian "Oi You" pose for Captain Boomerang. The other emotes offered for Boomerang are "legendary" upgrades of ones already offered.

These relatively minuscule contributions to one of the game's best characters are confounding. While it's unclear exactly why the Battle Pass is without any skins for Boomerang, it may be a ploy to keep players engaged for the next round. If players want to see more options for Boomerang, they'll likely continue to purchase and pore through additional game content. Regardless of the reason, the lack of attention afforded to Boomerang in Kill the Justice League's first Battle Pass seems to be frustrating more than inspiring anticipation.
