Highlights

  • Inventory management issues in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League echo Modern Warfare: Zombies.
  • Limited stash space in Kill The Justice League can lead to discarding precious gear.
  • DLC additions to Suicide Squad: KTJL will inevitably exacerbate stash space problems.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League could be repeating the mistakes of another popular third-person shooter: Modern Warfare: Zombies. Both games seem to run into trouble when it comes to inventory management.

Suicide Square: Kill the Justice League has been met with some praise since its release in January, yet its limited stash space is a troubling feature. There are 300 inventory slots per game in Kill the Justice League, and those spots build up quickly. This can lead players to use hard-fought weapons and gear before they’re needed, or worse, discard them.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's first season is just around the corner, but it may not be enough to bring players back for another bout.

Kill the Justice League Stretches Loot Thin

This problem is an echo of an infamous design choice in Modern Warfare 3: Zombies. The Zombies mode in Modern Warfare 3 saw a stash limit of 10 items per game. The ability to plan ahead in games is undeniably important; ample stash space aids the accomplishment of tasks, so the stash limit of Modern Warfare 3: Zombies made planning ahead more difficult. And in games with several characters, stash limits can become especially pesky.

“Within this city’s fiscal stash, Lex Luthor sits upon your cash.” This puzzle from the Riddler in Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League seems to portend the coveted nature of stash space in the game. While each chapter of Kill the Justice League allows for 300 inventory slots, these spaces are divided up among several playable characters, further complicating the calculations players must make when picking up loot.

Upgrades Can Make Kill The Justice League Stash Problem Worse

Several days ago, Rocksteady announced the introduction of a new addition to the Kill The Justice League roster. An alternate timeline version of the Joker will serve as another asset in the fight to defeat Brainiac. While the upcoming release of the Joker is exciting, it underscores the potential problems with limited loot space.

As DLC continues to be released, Kill The Justice League's inventory cap can become problematic. With a storage stash shared between characters, space could become hard to come by as each new DLC requires gear. Gear upgrades can also lead to stash space concerns for players. Players are first allowed to upgrade weapons after getting through the Earth-2 segment of Kill The Justice League, and an Elite capability allows players to roll back and choose specific augments for their weapons. With this incentive to upgrade, it's easy to see how the 300 space stash between members of the Suicide Squad can get cramped as the game goes on.

Comparing MW3's Stash to Kill The Justice League

The inventory issues in Modern Warfare: Zombies became were arguably more severe than those of Kill the Justice League. Still, as DLC additions and weapons upgrades continue to take up space, Kill the Justice League's stash limit could become just as problematic. While all additions and upgrades to Kill the Justice League are welcome, more stash space could prove literally game-changing.

The Joker will be released Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League 's first DLC on March 28.
