Spoilers for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has introduced the Arkhamverse to all sorts of iconic DC characters, including the likes of Superman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern. But perhaps its best new addition comes in the form of the Scarlet Speedster himself, The Flash. While he may only be involved in the story for a brief time, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s iteration could be so much more if given the chance.

Right now, there is seemingly no clear route forward for the Arkhamverse. All the major iconic heroes are dead, the Suicide Squad has gone off into the multiverse, and the world will never be the same after Brainiac’s invasion. However, Rocksteady may have the perfect opportunity here with the Flash. The character is already extremely popular and his Arkhamverse variant seems to have been received well, so all that remains is for the studio to give him his own solo adventure.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s Flash Feels Like the Perfect Protagonist

The Flash’s Popularity Should Definitely Be Tapped Into

Since his inception, Flash has been considered one of DC’s most popular characters. He is not only an integral member of the Justice League, but he has also played a major role in pretty much any reality-changing crossover. Additionally, he has had countless successful comic book runs with five different characters taking on the moniker. On top of that, he has also appeared countless times in film, TV, and video games, with him even headlining his own Arrowverse show and DCEU film.

There seems to be no escaping DC Comics' Flash as he has been appearing practically everywhere in recent years.

While most of his appearances have seen him on the side of good, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has given players a look into his evil side. It was through that evil side that players were able to see a pretty compelling character. So, instead of letting that character gather dust, Rocksteady may want to give him his own adventure.

The Flash Could Give the Arkhamverse Something It Has Never Seen Before

Arkham purists are likely hoping for another Batman-centered adventure or for Superman to pick up the torch before any other hero, yet that may not be the best next step. Those titles could be a lot of fun; however, the Flash could give the Arkhamverse something it has never had before. Not just for the Arkhamverse, either, as modern DC video games have never really attempted to make Barry Allen the center of attention. He may have played a role in numerous titles, but never as the leading man.

Rocksteady has already experimented with Speed Force mechanics through Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s Captain Boomerang and the Flash boss battle. It has also built an intriguing backstory that involves a bitter rivalry with Boomerang and a history with the Justice League. Plus, it has now introduced the multiverse concept to the franchise. All of that makes it feel like Rocksteady is just preparing the Arkhamverse for the arrival of a Flash game, and now is the best time to deliver one.

If done right, a Flash game could be a fantastic experience. Players could zip through the streets of Central City, stop all sorts of villains from Flash's rogue’s gallery, interact with other universes and their flashes, and do everything in their power to keep it all together. The speed mechanics alone would be well worth the effort as it could lead to some wildly entertaining gameplay. Couple that with the award-winning storytelling of Rocksteady, and DC fans would likely be in for a treat.
