Subnautica: Below Deep offers a ton for players to explore just below the surface of the water, but those wanting to really dig deeper into the planet's mysterious history will have to swim deeper as well. Initially, the best way to allow Robin to dive deeper is to get more oxygen by crafting upgraded O2 tanks, but this will only take the player so far. Eventually, vehicles can be used to go deeper in a safer way, but these also have limits. In order to push these vehicles past their limitations, players will need Enameled Glass.

Enameled Glass itself doesn't allow players to go any deeper than they could before, but it is a requirement for certain important crafting recipes in Subnautica: Below Zero. The most useful of these recipes is undoubtedly the depth upgrades that allow players to go even deeper in their Seatruck.

Enameled Glass isn't something that can be found, instead players will need to craft it at the Fabricator. Each piece of Enameled Glass only requires three items: glass, lead, and diamonds. With all three of these in tow, players can head back to the Fabricator and create Enameled Glass. It's important to note that the blueprint for this item is only obtained after the player unlocks the Seatruck. Before that happens, there is no way to get Enameled Glass, so players will want to focus on getting the Seatruck instead.

When looking for the ingredients, it's helpful to know where each item can be found. Glass is also crafted at the Fabricator but requires the player to have two quartz. These can be found protruding out from the sea floor. Lead is found primarily in Galena Outcrops, so players should keep an eye out for rocky protrusions coming out from the walls in many biomes. Finally, Subnautica: Below Zero players in search of diamonds can look in a many of the game's biomes. One reliable way to find them relatively early on however is to simply head over to the Koppa Mining Site.

Aside from these depth upgrades, players can also use Enameled Glass for several other things. With the Habitat Builder, players can make various types of glass domes and even a conservatory room. When using the Mobile Vehicle Bay, players need Enameled Glass to craft the Prawn Suit and the Seatruck Aquarium Module. It is also used to upgrade the Seatruck's depth capabilities even further beyond what the first upgrade allowed for.
