Drowning, suffocation, hostile predators, starvation, and thirst are a few of the problems that players will face while exploring Planet 4546B in Subnautica: Below Zero, but even that isn't an extensive list. As the name implies, many regions in this game are arctic, and players will also have to monitor their body temperature in order to avoid freezing to death. While there are some steps players can take to mitigate the freezing cold, one of the best ways to do this is to find the Cold Suit. Even so, this is much easier said than done for a number of reasons.

The Cold Suit greatly increases the player's resistance to freezing temperatures. This means they will be able to spend extended periods of time above water or even underwater in the colder areas of Subnautica: Below Zero. In order to get it, players will first need to find the fragment associated with the item and then gather the materials to fabricate it.

There is only one Cold Suit fragment in Subnautica: Below Zero, and to find it players will need to venture to the Phi Robotics. Next, players will need to head back to a Fabricator to take a look at what each of the three different pieces require. In order to craft the helmet, suit, and gloves, players will need a grand total of four Fiber Mesh and four Snow Stalker Fur. The Fiber Mesh should be easy enough to get by now, as each one only requires the player to harvest two Creepvine Samples, but the Snow Stalker Fur is another thing entirely.

In order to save time and a nasty headache, players will want to know how to harvest Snow Stalker Fur before tracking one down. Although it may seem counterintuitive, players can't harvest Snow Stalker Fur from a dead Snow Stalker, so they'll have to do it while the beast is alive instead. To accomplish this without getting torn to shreds, players will need to use the Spy Pengling item. Approach the Snow Stalker while using the Spy Pengling and interact with it to get a tuft of fur. The Spy Pengling can conveniently hold four items, the exact amount that the player needs for the suit.

Now head back to the Fabricator once more and craft the Cold Suit, Helmet, and Gloves. According to this item's database entry, the suit is rated for an astounding 133.8 Kelvin. When converted, that's about -218° Fahrenheit or -139° Celsius, much colder than any recorded temperature here on Earth. Despite this, it will only serve to slow the player's body temperature from decreasing.
