In the fantastical world of Mushoku Tensei, where magical prowess is held in high regard, those who have mastery of powerful spells have an added advantage in battle. The versatility these spells give to already formidable warriors makes them dauntless. Usually, the potency of a magic spell relies on the amount of mana used in conjuring them.
With the new season on its way, fans can expect to see some of these awe-inspiring spells in use. From attacks used by gods to the ability to nullify magic, these spells are some of the rarest and most potent in the series. Here are some of the strongest magic spells in Mushoku Tensei and their users.

10 Flash Over
This Saint-Level spell utilizes fire magic to instantly cover a vast area in flames. Due to it being a saint-level spell, it requires a lot of mana to execute and has a very long chant, and the amount of mana poured into the magic determines its effectiveness.
Rudeus is blessed with the ability of voiceless incantation and a significant Laplace factor, which endowed him with great magical prowess making his version of this spell look like a sea of flames capable of annihilating a few Luster Grizzlies at once, reducing them to ashes.
9 Lightning
Lightning is a King-Level spell, an upgrade on the Saint-Level spell Cumulonimbus used by Roxy Migurdia on the day of Rudeus’ graduation from under her tutelage. It also requires a lot of mana to invoke due to the level, and performing it once was enough to drain Roxy’s mana reserves.
After casting Cumulonimbus, the spell focuses all the magic power to a point on the ground. The culmination of magic then generates a massive lightning strike capable of dealing immense damage to hoards of enemies.
8 Stone Cannon
This is an Intermediate-Level spell and an upgrade on the Rock Bullet spell, which is Beginner Rank. This spell manifests and fires a rock at high speed. Because of the low level of the attack, most mages do not consider using it. Rudeus’ creativity in combat allows him to tweak the rock's shape, size, speed, and temperature depending on the situation, turning it into one of his signature spells.
He can make spinning drill-shaped rocks fly at immense speeds, quick and hard enough to blitz and penetrate Badigadi and Orsted’s Battle Aura.
7 Gravity Manipulation
Gravity Manipulation is a technique used mainly by Aleksander Ryback, also known as Kalman III, and is suspected to be at least King-Level. Rudeus has also shown to be able to use this technique, although not masterfully. Ironically for a spell of its gravity, it does not require incantations to pull off.
Kalman III’s gravity manipulation ability comes from his King Dragon Sword Kajakut, also known as the strongest sword in the world. His ability to masterfully combine his North God Sword style with this ability makes it very frightening.
6 Nuclear Explosion
Nuclear Explosion is a spell suspected to be at least Imperial-Level and an upgrade on the Elementary-Level Fireball spell. It is a unique spell created by Rudeus when he visualized the strongest fireball ever using his voiceless incantation while pouring all his remaining mana into it as a last-ditch attempt to stop Dragon God Orsted.
It is capable of creating a massive explosion. It later becomes his go-to technique when he encounters Orsted for a second time, accidentally incinerating half of a great forest by being cast close to it.
5 Absolute Zero
Absolute Zero is an Imperial-Level Water spell and is an upgrade on the Frost Nova Water spell, which sits at the Advanced-Level. It is a combination of water splash and icicle field that soaks the opponents in water droplets before freezing them with it.
The difference between them is that the latter freezes the outer surface of its target and nothing more. On the other hand, Absolute Zero freezes its target wholly and completely. Rudeus accidentally created it when he used more mana than usual while attempting to cast a Frost Nova.
4 Dragon Gate
Dragon Gate is a spell exclusive to members of the Dragonian Race. Originally thought to be created by the Perugius Dola, well known as the Armored Dragon King, the only other person known to cast it in the story is Dragon God Orsted.
The ornate Dragon Gate can be summoned to absorb mana from highly destructive magic. Any attacks under King Level are instantly vaporized on contact with the gates. Perugius Dola can manifest two gates, with the other able to absorb Battle Aura from opponents and weaken them.
3 Electric
Electric is a slightly miniaturized version of the Lightning King-Level spell. Rudeus created it through one of his creative voiceless incantations, where he visually imagines the spell. It has less offensive potency than lightning but is way more versatile and better for hitting more precise targets. It also requires less mana and therefore has a shorter casting time.
It is capable of shocking and paralyzing enemies. Since the target is the central nervous system, it is perfect for bypassing the defense barrier that Battle aura poses against other magical spells.
2 Disturb Magic
Disturb Magic debuted in the first meeting between Orsted and Rudeus, in which Orsted used it to negate the fireball Rudeus was casting. Disturb magic is done by infusing magic into an opponent's spell as they build up the magic; if the magic power exceeds that in the spell, it will cause it to dissipate.
Rudeus made sure to learn this incredibly useful spell after experiencing it firsthand. His versatility with the spell combined with his plethora of spells, makes it incredibly useful in combat.
1 Armored Dragon King Hand Sword (Break)
This technique is employed by the Armored Dragon King Perugius Dola, one of the Seven Great Heroes who sealed the Demon God Laplace away. He uses it to summon an intense light that can sever an Immortal Demon Lord in two.
He used this technique to decapitate Atoferatofe Ryback after using his Dragon Gate to drain her magic and Battle Aura, leaving her vulnerable. The Dragon Race is said to have the key to permanently killing Immortal Demons, and there is a high possibility it is in this technique.
