Capcom unveils a new Street Fighter 6 trailer at The Game Awards, confirming a ton of new information including characters like Dee Jay, stages, and the long awaited release date. Capcom continues to ride high following its reveal of Street Fighter 6 earlier this year. Switching to the RE Engine, Street Fighter 6 wowed fans with an all new look including familiar characters that have aged a bit from what fans have come to expect.

Over the past few months, tons of new details for Street Fighter 6 have continued to appear online through new trailers as well as the closed beta test. Fans got an early look at revamped characters like Luke and Ken, as well as trying out all new originals such as Kimberly and Jamie. For the first time, the Street Fighter series now has an open world campaign which allows players to create their own character, explore Metro City, and take on challengers. The big question for many, however, was when fans would be able to finally get their hands on the game.

Thankfully, that question has now been answered thanks to a brand-new trailer that debuted at The Game Awards. The trailer was packed with new information including confirming the Street Fighter 6 launch date leak of June 2, 2022. While exciting enough on its own, the trailer provided fans a whole lot more including a new look at stages set in locations like Metro City and France, as well as some of the mini-games that can be played including the classic basketball parry that Third Strike players will likely remember.

The trailer also managed to confirm more Street Fighter 6 characters that leaked following the game's initial reveal. Classic fighter Dee Jay makes his return alongside three new characters like the graceful dancer Manon, Marisa, who is flanked by what looks like Roman Legionnaires in her stage, and the mysterious power wielding JP. Towards the end of the trailer, their critical art moves are showcased, adding a bit of flare to their super moves.

While fans still have a wait ahead of them before the game's launch, Capcom recently announced a second closed beta test kicking off on December 16 and running through that weekend. Those in the first test will be automatically invited, and additional players will be selected at random as long as they signed up on the official website.

Street Fighter 6 launches in 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
