Street Fighter characters have crossed over into a plethora of fighting and non-fighting games in the past. One wild example can be found in the strategy RPG series for the 3DS called Project X Zone. That game crosses over characters from franchises within Capcom, Bandai Namco, and Sega.

Players can take command of Ryu and Ken as one example. It’s rare for characters from other fighting games to cross over into this series though, but Street Fighter 6 can change all of that. Are there any characters from classic franchises that should get added as guests, or is Street Fighter 6's roster fine enough as it is? Here are four classic male and four classic female fighters that would potentially fit the bill.

8 Morrigan Aensland (Darkstalkers)

Morrigan Aensland from Darkstalkers

Starting off is another Capcom fighting franchise via Darkstalkers. Morrigan has crossed paths with many Street Fighter characters over the years. She has been a staple in the Marvel vs Capcom games, for example.

While it might not make a lot of sense to have a succubus in a core Street Fighter game, there are ways to include her without going full demon. They could redesign Morrigan to look more human and wink at the players who know she is hiding a tail, bat wings, etc.

7 Ayane (Dead Or Alive)

Ayane from Dead Or Alive 6

Ayane is one of the many female ninjas, or kunoichi, from the Dead or Alive franchise. She’s more like an assassin which Capcom could use to tie into JP and the Shadaloo organization. Maybe Ayane was hired by Shadaloo to take out JP discretely who has since cut ties with them.

Maybe Ayane could even be looking for Shadaloo just like Kimberly is in Street Fighter 6. As two female ninjas, they could cross blades as they are on the same path.

6 Faust (Guilty Gear)

Faust from Guilty Gear

Faust is one of the wildest characters in the Guilty Gear franchise. He never shows his face and instead hides behind a paper bag. This has to be one of the best paper bags ever made if he is able to fight without it falling off.

This paper bag gimmick could tie into the gang in the World Tour mode as a lot of the minions wear boxes over their heads. It would be funny if Faust accidentally gets roped into their gang because of his headgear.

5 Terry Bogard (The King Of Fighters)

Terry Bogard from The King Of Fighters 15

Terry is basically the Ryu of The King of Fighters franchise. Like Morrigan, many characters within Street Fighter have fought Terry before. Capcom partnered with SNK for the crossover series, Capcom vs SNK, multiple times and they are some good fighting games.

Terry has never properly got into Street Fighter though and now is as good a time as any. Terry is not the flashiest character in his series, unlike the oddball that is Faust in Guilty Gear. However, Terry has a lot of the same spirit that fuels Ryu, Ken, and several others within Street Fighter 6 that would help him fit in easily.

4 Liu Kang (Mortal Kombat)

Liu Kang from Mortal Kombat

There are two ends of the fighting game spectrum and everything else falls in the middle. Street Fighter is the poster child for the genre with its vast amount of characters and tight gameplay. On the other side is Mortal Kombat which features some of the bloodiest combat in all of video games. Even shooters like DOOM blush at the sight of Mortal Kombat. It’s amazing then that these two juggernauts have never crossed over with each other in a video game.

Since the franchise is getting rebooted via Mortal Kombat 1, maybe Liu Kang could dip into Street Fighter 6 looking for new champions of Earth Realm. He would, of course, have to pull his punches so as to not murder beloved characters like Blanka.

3 Kilik (Soulcalibur)

Kilik from Soulcalibur

Kilik is from Soulcalibur which is a fighting game with a gimmick of giving characters weapons. If everyone has a weapon, then there is an even playing field. When a character has a weapon in a non-weapon fighting game, it can cause an imbalance.

For example, Lily has two boomerangs in Street Fighter 6 which give her a good advantage with distance. Since Capcom already broke the rules, they may as well have someone come in from Soulcalibur like Kilik. He uses a bo staff which is harmless compared to all of the other bladed fighters in that series.

2 Nina Williams (Tekken)

Nina Williams from Tekken

Nina is from the Tekken series and she is an undercover assassin. Her backstory for coming into Street Fighter 6 could be similar to Ayane’s. As an assassin, Nina could have been hired to either take out JP or maybe she is trying to gather information about Shadaloo to then assassinate someone else.

It’s important to note that Tekken has crossed over with Street Fighter before in the aptly titled game, Street Fighter x Tekken. There was supposed to be a Tekken x Street Fighter game too but it was quietly canceled. Instead, years later, Akuma got into Tekken 7.

1 Pai Chan (Virtua Fighter)

Pai Chan from Virtua Fighter

Pai Chan is from Virtua Fighter which used to be a bigger fighting game series. It’s sad that Sega hasn’t made a new one in years, but they have at least been updating and re-releasing old games.

It’s hard to choose just one fighter from this franchise but Pai Chan seemed like one of the funnier choices. That’s because she looks a lot like Chun-Li, so it would be great to see them bump into each other and think they’re doppelgängers. Akira would work too as he looks a lot like Ryu.

Street Fighter 6 was released on June 2, 2023, and is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
