Street Fighter 6 has officially revealed the dates for its upcoming closed beta test, as well as details of what will be available during the test. The newest Street Fighter's closed beta was announced as part of Capcom's presentation for Tokyo Games Show 2022 with the developer placing a heavy focus on the sequel. Four characters coming to the newest game were introduced including franchise staples like Ken, Blanka, and E.Honda. Boasting a variety of online features, Capcom has now revealed when players will get their first chance to test out the game.

Capcom's showcase for Street Fighter 6 has confirmed the game's first beta test will take place next month. The closed beta will run from October 7th to October 10th with players able to sign up to play the game on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam. The closed beta will allow players to test out Street Fighter 6's heavily featured character creation, allowing testers to create their own avatar to use in the Battle Hub. However, Capcom did confirm that players would only be able to create one character for the closed beta test, without being able to edit their avatar.

Capcom's official website for the Street Fighter 6 closed beta test also reveals the various game modes that will be available to players during the three-day period. Players will be able to try out both Casual and Ranked matches during the closed beta. The Game Center will also appear during the test, allowing players to fight against others in Battle Hub matches and featuring classic Street Fighter games that will rotate in and out daily. The test period will even feature open tournaments according to the beta test's official website.

Alongside the major gameplay features, details for Street Fighter 6's beta test also revealed several quality-of-life options coming with the test. The beta will feature cross-platform play as well as the option for players to switch between modern and classic control schemes. Players can customize their real-time commentary in Street Fighter 6 with several voices, including well-known esports casters like Kosuke Hiraiwa and Tasty Steve.

Street Fighter 6's closed beta announcement came as part of a Tokyo Games Show presentation that saw plenty of news about Capcom's biggest franchises. The Japanese developer showed off more of the upcoming Resident Evil 4 remake, confirming a special showcase for the game to come next month. The stream also gave more details about Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak's second free update and other major games like Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection and Exoprimal. The closed beta for Street Fighter 6 should excite fans looking for their first chance to experience the franchise's next generation.
