As the painstaking wait for the fourth season of Stranger Things continues, Netflix is working hard behind the scenes to keep the interest in the show alive. It seems that everyone involved with the project, from the main cast to the Duffer Brothers themselves, is staying hush about where the story will go and what will happen to the Hawkins kids. As of now, the only resources fans have to make predictions from are a couple of preliminary trailers, some cryptic teaser videos, and, oddly, a piece of official merchandise that will be released in stores very soon.

Exclusively on Walmart's US website, a Stranger Things Crosley Cassette Player Bundle has been made available for pre-order ahead of its actual drop date on Friday, November 19, which conveniently lands just before Black Friday. The cassette player is one of a few products that Netflix has introduced in anticipation of the upcoming season of Stranger Things and it bears a rather important sneak-peek into the new episodes.

The bundle consists of a working tape deck and an AM/FM radio, which will allow fans to play a cassette that features a secret voicemail left by a mysterious figure. At the moment, the identity of such a figure remains unknown, but it has been confirmed that the unnamed character will be a part of Stranger Things season 4. Some believe that the voice behind the message belongs to a new villain who will be introduced to the series, while others think it could belong to one of Eleven's "siblings" who will come to her aid at some point during the show.

Shawn Levy, the show's producer, promises an exciting continuation of the story and that it will definitely be worth the wait. He explains that while the COVID-19 pandemic played a hand in extending the waiting period due to a slew of scheduling setbacks and filming delays, the fourth season of Stranger Things was always meant to be the most ambitious, cinematic, sprawling, and epic season yet, which is why it's taking so long to come out.

Viewers can expect a darker storyline in season 4, with the now-matured Hawkins kids facing old and new threats that could change their world forever. Additionally, Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers), David Harbour (Jim Hopper), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), Noah Schnapp (Will Byers), Sadie Sink (Max Mayfield), Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan Byers), Joe Keery (Steve Harrington), Maya Hawke (Robin Buckley), and many more familiar faces will be making their return to the show.

The fourth season of Stranger Things is expected to debut sometime in 2022 on Netflix.
