When Stranger Things isn’t filming -- which has been often -- David Harbour spends his downtime playing Bethesda games and hyping Starfield.

Through no fault of its own, Netflix's supernatural juggernaut has had some production hangups. The dual Hollywood strike stopped production of Stranger Things to a point where writers were certain the Stranger Things season 5 premiere would only be computer-generated. But there was good news for Harbour, an avid Starfied fan.

When speaking to IGN, he shared his love for the game and feelings about the company. "Starfield? I loved it!" Harbour exclaimed, "I mean, it's been controversial as a game, as well, right? Todd Howard, in general, I mean, there's a lot of, like, controversy around Bethesda. But I have to say Bethesda games; there's something about them that is just so rich and that world." Harbour even confessed to using exploits, saying, "I'm leveling up my dude and using all the exploits to get infinite money and steal things."

In the gaming world, fans aren’t shy about sharing their feelings. By being online, gaming offers anonymity, which makes it easy for fans to shout their opinions to the rooftops. These comments often include feelings about Bethesda as a company. The gaming group is most famous for the fantasy open-world game, The Elder Scrolls, in particular, Skyrim. The Head of Bethesda, Todd Howard, is the subject of many jokes due to his release logic of the game. Skyrim is available on every platform imaginable, and fans tend to tease the developer online about him pushing the game down everyone’s throats. But other details surrounding the company have caused a bit of a backlash. Encumbered Starfield fans and Bethesda gamers have offered criticism about broken promises from the company. Fallout '76 was a massive disappointment to the community, causing ire to be thrown at Howard's face.

It's easy for media consumers to forget that games are created by a team of people, not just one person. Howard has become a meme more than anything else, which is difficult to untangle. Harbour's comments are probably more indicative of gamers being the first to vocalize their displeasure, no matter what the case. Even the criticism of Starfield is hit or miss. If the worst thing about Starfield is that it's Skyrim is in space then video game players could do much worse. Though it may be overexposed, Skyrim is one of the most widely appreciated fantasy games that isn’t The Witcher. It’s okay for Harbour to vocalize his love for the game. Starfield lore has been developed over eight years. It's not like no one else is playing it.

Stranger Things seasons 1-4 are streaming on Netflix.
