Stranger Things may be a horror series, but it looks like the cast is having some fun behind the scenes. Netflix unveiled the bloopers for season 4, and it looks like even Vecna is getting in on the infectious laughter.

Stranger Things decided to split its fourth season in two this year, with Volume I consisting of 7 episodes and premiering in May, while Volume II consisted of two supersized episodes that premiered in July. The season was probably the series’ darkest. In its shocking finale, Jamie Campbell Bower's Vecna won and opened a giant gate over Hawkins, which means the Upside Down can now begin invading Earth on a grand scale. Not all of the group made it out unscathed, with new fan favorite Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) sacrificing himself, while Max (Sadie Sink) actually died for a moment, limbs twisted and eyes bleeding. Even when she was brought back by a determined Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), she ended up in a coma that her psyche was lost in.

Despite the horror and darkness surrounding the actors, it seems like the stars of the show had a good time on set. Netflix shared a video of the bloopers as part of their annual TUDUM festival. The blooper reel features plenty of flubbed lines, dancing, and corpsing (an industry term for when an actor can’t stop laughing, ironically fitting for this show). In one scene, Steve (Joe Keery) and Joseph Quinn's Eddie Munson walk through the Upside Down, only for Quinn to trod on one of the vines. “Guess we woke up Vecna,” Quinn notes.

Other highlights include Jamie Campbell Bower's Vecna corpsing as he’s trying to menace Nancy (Natalia Dyer). One of the concluding gags in the clip ends with Argyle (Eduardo Franco) and Jonathan (Charlie Heaton). Franco struggles to get out some of his character’s fast-paced dialogue, and Heaton can hardly keep it together. The crew cheer when they finally get the scene down, only for Heaton to walk off-screen, clearly showing relief.

The release of the bloopers helps those fans who are starved during the wait for Stranger Things season 5. That season is currently in the scripting process, and likely won’t be out until 2024. With filming and post-production still to go, it’s going to be a long wait before fans catch up with their favorite Hawkins characters again.

Stranger Things season 5 promises to be a grand finale for the show. Set to be eight episodes, it’s been rumored to feature a time jump of some sort. Perhaps the series will go all the way and end the famously nostalgic series in 1989, the last year of the decade.

Stranger Things seasons 1-4 can be streamed exclusively on Netflix.
