The Cactuar is a recurring enemy within the Final Fantasy franchise, and if the PS5 demo is anything to go off of, it seems like they will be making yet another appearance in Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin. In this game, they function similarly to the Crystal Lizards in Dark Souls, albeit they are a bit more aggressive. Once they spot the player, they will start to run around frantically, and if they aren't killed fast enough, they disappear forever. That said, players that manage to kill these wily cacti will be rewarded with a ton of equipment and potions.
It should be said that this is all in reference to the PS5 demo of Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin. It's entirely possible, even likely, that things will change by the time the full game releases in 2022. Still, for those that find themselves enjoying the demo and that want to try and find a Cactuar for themselves they seem to spawn in one of three locations. There may be other locations as well, but players should check these areas first.
It seems as though only one Cactuar will spawn per run through of the demo, and it is possible for no Cactuar to spawn as well. If the player doesn't find a Cactuar in one of these locations, then no amount of dying, reloading, or resting at a Cube will cause one to spawn. In order to have another chance to spawn a Cactuar, players will need to beat Garland and reload their save file. In order to kill Cactuar quickly, use Black Mage and hit them with Blizzaga or Waterga.
Cactuar - Outside Shrine of Bygone Light
Known by players as simply "the wolf room," the Shrine of Bygone Light is the area of the demo where players fight a pack of wolves all at once. The Cactuar is located just outside this room before the player opens the door.
Cactuar - Outside the Griffon Room
At the very end of the demo, players can find a room with a Griffon in it. This enemy is the toughest non-boss enemy in the demo, but it rewards players that are able to beat it handsomely. There is a chance for a Cactuar to spawn in or near this room.
Cactuar - Outside Garland's Boss Door
The final room of the demo is a grand hall with a staircase leading up to Garland. Instead of going up, head to the right of the stairs and players will find a Cactuar here.
