One of the most iconic parts of the Final Fantasy franchise is the Job system and players who are diving into Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin will find yet another spin on the system on full display. Players assign two Jobs for Jack (the game's protagonist) at a time and can freely swap in other Jobs during or in between each mission, as well. There are a lot of choices, but there isn't a need to feel overwhelmed during the early game.

The massive variety of Jobs available in Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin offers players the chance to experiment with a lot of different strategies and play styles until they find a few that are fun for them. That said, some jobs are definitely a little easier than others, especially early in the game as players are mastering the basics of combat timing and their unique abilities while trying to survive some very punishing fights.

A few jobs will be available as soon as the first mission kicks off and the other basic jobs will quickly be added to the list as soon as players pick up the weapons necessary for them. Don't worry about finding those weapons, they'll be dropping from tons of mobs within the first hour or two of gameplay. Players will likely want to take a close look at Swordsman, Mage, and Pugilist during the fist mission or two.

Players who are looking for a good place to get started should consider trying one of these two recommended pairings early on in the game before they've unlocked the more advanced Jobs...

Swordsman plus any other sword-wielding Job

Players who want to focus more on traditional melee combat than magic will want to power through these Job trees. Taking this path will allow players to quickly work though the talent trees and unlock advanced sword-wielding Jobs like Knight (and eventually go with a powerful melee pairing like Knight + Ronin). Note - Don't confuse Knight with the Void Knight Advanced Job.

Mage plus Lancer

This is an ideal pairing for players who aren't very comfortable with difficult action games heading into this experience. Players who take this path will be able to keep their distance a bit more and should find dodging and parrying from that range a bit more forgiving. This path also sets players on the path towards unlocking White Mage or Black Mage as the next tier of Job options later down the road.

As players work to find the early game Job pairing that works best for them, they should remember that they can revisit the ??? mission on the map as a place to play around and experience with new options.
