Although the PS5 demo of Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is primarily a single player game, players do have a party of three characters. The protagonist is Jack, the angry guy that really wants to kill Chaos introduced to fans in the trailer, but his fellow Warriors of Light are Jed and Ash. These two characters are computer controller and help the player both in fights and exploration. As the party members are often just as important as the main character in Final Fantasy games, many players are wondering just how much customization the PS5 demo affords these characters.

Anyone that's played the demo for Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin will know that Jack can be outfitted in a variety of different types of armors. Between these, three variants of weapons, and six different jobs that each offer unique skills, there's plenty of customization to be had with him.

Unfortunately, the same doesn't hold true for Jed and Ash. Players cannot customize their appearance, change their equipment, or unlock new jobs for them during the demo. They seem to be exactly the same when players start as when they finish, although it does seem as though they get stronger alongside Jack in some way. Players also can't control the characters at all either, so those expecting a mechanic similar to how Final Fantasy 15 or Final Fantasy 7 Remake lets the player command their allies to use techniques may find themselves disappointed in that aspect.

All of that said, it's important to remember that this is just a demo for a game that won't release until sometime in 2022. Anything can change between now and then, so it is highly likely that these characters will be more customizable in the future. A great example of this is that players can't see their allies' health, Break Gauge, or statuses at all. There's not even a status page for them in the game's Battle Settings menu. This will probably change for the full release, and players might even be able to change Jed and Ash's jobs or use them in combat some other way.

This also points to another popular question about the game, as many fans are wondering about multiplayer. As the rest of this information suggests, the PS5 demo of Final Fantasy Origin does not have multiplayer, but this too could change in the future. Other games from Team Ninja like Nioh have multiplayer, so hopefully the feature is considered for this new take on Final Fantasy.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin releases in 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
