Stellar Blade offers a wide range of enemies for Eve to fight, each with their own attack patterns and methods of fighting. Despite the enemy's diversity, Eve will continue to fight with her one-handed sword but has an equal amount of options to choose from when fighting.

When enemies are attacking, Eve can block, parry, or dodge. While blocking is a safe method for avoiding damage, it won't help Eve charge up Beta Energy and will often have enemies use block-breaking attacks. This makes it even more important to master dodging and parrying to deal with whatever the enemy throws at you while also charging up Beta Energy and lining up for a counterattack.

How to Dodge Perfectly

The Player Perfectly Dodging An Attack

Dodging is the first method of avoiding damage, with Eve able to dodge just about any attack from enemies by pressing Circle. Some enemy attacks can't be parried, so dodging offers an across-the-board solution for just about any attack coming your way. While any dodge without getting hit is a success, getting a perfect dodge will have Eve explode with red electricity, briefly stunning the enemy and leaving them open for a counterattack by pressing Triangle.

Landing a perfect dodge requires Eve to jump out of the way at the last possible second, making landing one much more dangerous than a regular dodge. For regular attacks, there is no icon or indicator for when to dodge, requiring players to wait until right before the attack lands to dodge. Unlocking the Reflex Boost skill for 2 SP in the Survival Skill Tree helps make the window for a perfect dodge more forgiving. While it doesn't help with landing a perfect dodge, the skill Double Dodge in the Survival tree gives Eve the ability to dodge again and farther away should a perfect dodge be messed up and players need an escape from bad positioning.

How to Parry Perfectly

The Player Parrying An Attack

Parrying and blocking are two sides of the same coin, both done with L1. Holding down L1 will have Eve blocking incoming attacks, and pressing L1 right before an attack hits Eve will have her parry the attack. Parrying, in general, generates Beta Energy, with Perfect Parries briefly stunning enemies and generating a lot more Beta Energy, indicated by an explosion of yellow lighting. The window to parry an attack instead of blocking can be forging, but getting a Perfect Parry will require a last-second reaction.

The Focus Boost skill can be unlocked for 2 SP in the Survival skill tree to make the perfect parry window easier to land in. Landing a perfect parry is much more dangerous, as players will be within the enemy's range should they mess up. Any basic attack from an enemy can be parried and perfectly parried as long as there isn't a flash of blue or yellow before the attack, indicating a much more powerful attack. Mastering the perfect parry is key to charging Beta Energy and using Eve's more powerful skills often in combat.
