Highlights

  • Don't sell unique weapons, spacesuits, and ships in Starfield - they hold sentimental value and are rare finds that enhance the player's journey.
  • Keep a stock of Med Packs for healing in the challenging game - they are essential for survival and shouldn't be sold for quick Credits.
  • Digipicks are valuable tools for hacking and unlocking secrets - keep them in your inventory as they are scarce and have multiple uses.

There are some items in Starfield that vendors simply shouldn’t have. As players make their way through the galaxy in Starfield, they will come across all sorts of trinkets and oddities that they will no doubt cram into their inventory and ship management. However, some of these items are worth hoarding for a few reasons, whether that be the sentimental value or the fact that they hold a grand use in the inevitable combat situations.

Players should never sell these items to vendors in Starfield, or they will be scrambling to buy them back, or perhaps even regret their decision when it is already too late. It’s always best to double-check what is in the inventory of the seller and the buyer to ensure that players aren’t selling their grandest valuables for a quick bout of Credits.

Unique Weapons And Spacesuits

the hunter's rare rifle

Across the many missions of Starfield, players will find themselves collecting a few rare suits and weapons. These can be found in many side quests, faction quests, and main missions. Many of these weapons and spacesuits are entirely unique compared to the rest of the cosmetics of guns and armor that can be found in Starfield.

It would be a shame to sell these items, even if they do not serve much purpose outside the inventory or cargo of the player’s ship or displayed in their home. Keeping unique weapons and spacesuits keeps a sentimental value to the journey of a collector.

Med Packs

med pack

Healing is essential in Starfield. It’s not the easiest Bethesda game out there, so players are going to want to stock up on healing supplies to ensure that they don’t get themselves killed when fighting against Spacers, religious zealots in space, or the many alien creatures that plague the foreign planets of undiscovered bounties.

Med Packs are a great healing item in Starfield, and players should keep themselves stocked up with them, rather than getting rid of them for a quick bundle of Credits. Med Packs should be looted, bought, and kept in the safe hands of the player’s inventory.

Digipicks

digipick in starfield

Another essential of the player is a Digipick. This is Starfield’s version of a lockpick, and with a Digipick in hand, players are able to hack computers, chests, and doors to unlock secrets and new rewards. A Digipick can get players through a long way in their life of sneaking and looting, so why bother selling them, especially without the use of console commands?

Digipicks do not sell for much, and they’re pretty scarce in the galaxy. It’s not worth selling them, and players will want as many as they can hold in their inventory, as they take up practically no space, and they are always a useful addition to the explorers out there.

Ammunition

.27 Caliber Ammo

Whilst players explore and kill their way through the galaxy, they are probably going to find themselves possessing more than a few dozen bullets of a large variety. There are so many different guns in Starfield, and many of them have their own ammo type, which makes it worthwhile that players do not sell this ammo.

Ammo takes up no inventory space, so it would make no sense to try and keep it tidy and ammo-free. Players should carry any ammo that they find, as they will not know when the next best gun in Starfield will turn up, and they will want to ensure that they have the ammo to wield it, rather than giving it away to some vendor.

Mission Collectibles

Across the journeys of the player, the captain of Constellation will find many trinkets to add to their collection. Players can essentially build a museum of goods that they have collected, including specific items from missions that make them unique. These include things like the Freestar Ranger badge and other mission goodies like Solomon’s Map in Akila City.

It’s not worth trying to sell these items, as, although they may be worth a few Credits, their price does not offer the same as their sentimental value. It’s great to hold onto these treasures and show some adoration and nostalgia for a previous mission, and to perhaps one day store these items in a home of the player’s very own as they settle down in the galaxy.

Unique Ships

Some ships, like the Razorleaf, can be acquired through specific side quests. Most ships play differently, and players can utilize their designs and their upgrades to create the best ship in Starfield. However, one thing that they will not want to do, is sell unique ships that are rewarded for completing certain missions. The profits may be nice, but is it worth losing a piece of history?

One of the best unique ships in Starfield is the Razorleaf, found in the Mantis quest. This ship will have the Crimson Fleet avoid the player, fleeing with their Grav Drives and their desire to loot quenched due to their fear of the ship. Selling said the ship would be a shame, as they would miss iconic moments like these.

Starfield is available now for PC and Xbox Series X|S.
