In the Starfield gameplay trailer, a fan spotted a piece of information revealing a little bit more about the game itself. This particular trailer for Starfield came out 7 months ago.

Starfield is Bethesda's upcoming open world RPG, initially announced in 2018 during the developer's E3 event. Since then, plenty of videos have been released with various different new details about the game. These include videos focused on concept art, in-game location info, and sound editing. On June 12, 2022, the much-anticipated official gameplay reveal for Starfield was posted and since then, fans have been waiting to know the exact date of the release. As it turns out, not all available knowledge has been mined from that particular trailer.

The frame itself which tells a bit more about Starfield comes and goes in the blink of an eye. It happens when the player finds a group of space pirates, and they must fight for their survival. One of the pirates rushes towards the player who keeps shooting and so the pirate falls down dead before reaching his target. Once it happens the expected interface pops up, giving the option to loot the pirate. However, the detail in question happens right before that very moment, and it's very easy to miss. While the pirate is running and the player is shooting, for a fragment of a second a different interface appears, giving the option to pickpocket the pirate who was still alive at that moment.

Although this is not necessarily groundbreaking information considering Bethesda's previous body of work, it might raise some further questions. The way this particular Starfield interface was implemented doesn't seem very practical, as pickpocketing should be a stealth move and not something to be performed during a head-on confrontation. However, it is also a fair argument to make that the game is still in development and might look very different a year or more before the official release. Therefore, it's entirely possible that a feature like this which could break immersion in its earlier format will be fixed and implemented correctly by the time the Starfield release comes around.

It's undeniable that fans are itching to hear about Starfield's release date and the fact that Microsoft is skipping E3 2023 does not make waiting any easier. It makes gamers desperate to learn just a tiny bit more about their anticipated game and find it intriguing even when something this small comes to light.
