The official Starfield PC spec recommendations have just been revealed, meaning that AMD users now know what hardware they will need to fully enjoy Bethesda’s upcoming space RPG epic. Starfield was announced back in 2018 and quickly gained headlines as Bethesda’s first new IP in over 25 years. In this star-spanning adventure, players will take the role of a fully customizable space explorer and traverse a galaxy of procedurally-generated planets.Starfield seems like an incredibly ambitious game, with previous trailers highlighting the game’s impressive graphics and wide range of customization options. While some fans have debated whether Starfield has undergone a visual downgrade during its lengthy development cycle, few can argue with the massive scope of Bethesda's latest first-person role-playing adventure. Additionally, while Starfield will be locked a 30 FPS on Xbox consoles, PC owners will have no such limitation - provided they have an SDD and the proper hardware needed to run the game at its best.Now gamers have a better idea of what that hardware is, at least for computers running on AMD processors. A checklist of Starfield AMD system recommendations was recently posted on the official AMD website and shared by Twitter user and video game rumor hunter shinobi602. These recommendations are categorized under three distinct settings: the Legendary Experience will allow players to experience Starfield in full 4K resolution by way of the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D and AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT, the Epic Experience will enable solid 1440p with high FPS thanks to the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X and AMD Radeon RX 6800 Series, and the Heroic Experience supports 1080p through the AMD Ryzen 5 7600 and AMD Radeon RX 7600.
Late last month, AMD announced that it will be the exclusive partner for the PC version of Starfield and that the game was designed with its top AMD GPUs like the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT and AMD Radeon RX 6800 Series in mind. Bethesda executive producer Todd Howard has similarly been hyping up Starfield’s PC port over the past few weeks, promising that it will be a “modder's paradise” for players looking to go beyond the game’s already massive 1,000-planet universe.
Said galaxy will be best explored through AMD, and now PC gamers know just what chipsets they will need for the full Starfield graphical experience. There haven’t been any similarly detailed lists for other processor brands like Intel or NVIDIA, but hopefully, Starfield will run just as smoothly across all machines when it finally blasts off this fall.
Starfield launches September 6 for PC and Xbox Series X.
