Ship building has quickly become one of the most popular activities among fans of Starfield, and one resourceful player has shown off a cool ship design of their own which depicts the Great Serpent, an enigmatic deity which is worshiped by one of the various factions encountered in the game. The complex spaceship customization mechanics present in Starfield have allowed players to construct pretty much any ship design they can imagine, and some have pushed these possibilities to the limit with some truly unique and often outright hilarious creations.

The ability for players to design and customize their very own dream starship has proven to be one of the most attractive features of Bethesda's massively ambitious space-based RPG. Fans can stop off at several major urban locations in Starfield and purchase from a wide variety of upgrades and cosmetic modules which can be used to customize their ships, though this technology often doesn't come cheap. Putting together the ultimate cargo freighter or space battleship will surely require both a fair amount of time as well as a ton of credits, but the investment can be well worth the reward.

Some of the more creative members of the Starfield community have shared some mind-blowing ship builds since the game released, from literal space trucks to recreations of Star Wars' Millennium Falcon. One player known simply as chicken_breath has shared a unique creation of their own: a spaceship built in the image of the Great Serpent, an entity worshiped by a fanatical enemy faction known as House Va'ruun. This impressive ship build looks quite literally like a giant flying space snake, though it still manages to pack all the necessary systems as well as a decent amount of interior space. The creator didn't share any build schematics or a screenshot of the ship's stats, so despite its awesome appearance, it's hard to say how well this ship would realistically perform.

Ship building has proven to be an impressive feature of the game in terms of depth and complexity, but it's not the only way players can let their creativity loose in Starfield. Fans are also able to construct fully-fledged outposts almost anywhere on the surface of any planet or moon so long as it can be landed on. These planetary bases can also be customized and expanded in a similar manner to ships, but can offer unique bonuses such as the ability to steadily extract raw resources from a planet over time.

All in all, the game has provided ample opportunities for players who wish to get creative. Players are often quite well-rewarded for experimenting with Starfield's many mechanics, and the boundless potential for community-made mods leaves many to wonder could be made possible in the future.

Starfield is available on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
