Starfield's next update will be entering Steam Beta next week with plans to bring it to PC and Xbox at some point later. Starfield has received multiple updates since the hit open world sci-fi RPG launched earlier this year, mostly aimed at squashing lingering bugs and improving its performance.

Prior to launch, Starfield was described as the Bethesda game with the least amount of bugs at launch. Many would agree that Starfield lived up to that promise, yet it still launched with its fair share of technical problems. From goofy glitches like Starfield companions walking around with invisible heads to frustrating issues like quests not progressing as they should, Bethesda's latest definitely has some issues that still need ironed out.

Bethesda plans to support Starfield for the long haul, and so fans can expect many more updates for the game. The next Starfield update will enter Steam Beta next week, and it will introduce "Nvidia DLSS support with frame generation, display and HDR controls for supported systems, and other optimizations and improvements." Bethesda is looking to get player feedback on the update before it's released to the masses across PC and Xbox Series X. What exactly Bethesda means by "other optimizations and improvements" remains to be seen, so it seems like fans will either have to opt-in to the Steam Beta next week or wait for the company to drop the official patch notes.

Starfield's new DLSS support is only for PC users with Nvidia, but Bethesda added that AMD FSR3 support is in the pipeline and will be added in a later update. PC gamers that don't want to wait for official DLSS support can download the Starfield DLSS mod in the meantime. Those that have held out this long might as well just wait for Bethesda to add it with the official update, though, whenever it comes.

Future Starfield updates will continue addressing fan feedback and concerns about the open world sci-fi RPG, as well as prep it for the substantial new content coming as part of its paid DLC. Starfield's first paid DLC is called Shattered Space, but details on what exactly it will entail are unavailable at the time of this writing. Bethesda has at least one more Starfield expansion up its sleeve after Shattered Space, but fans will have to stay tuned for more information on that front. They can look forward to the Nvidia DLSS update in the meantime.
