Bethesda's new open world sci-fi RPG Starfield has gone gold, with fans able to preload on Xbox starting August 17 and on Steam starting August 30. Bethesda announced Starfield all the way back in 2018, so fans have been waiting five years to get their hands on the game. Multiple delays later, Bethesda has finally wrapped development on Starfield and is preparing to ship it out to the masses.

Starfield has been highly-anticipated since its initial announcement, and for good reason. It's the first original IP from Bethesda in decades, and not only that, but it's the company's first single-player game since 2015's Fallout 4. Starfield gameplay presentations have been very impressive, generating even more excitement for the game. The wait for Starfield is nearly at an end, and those who can't wait to play can preload to make sure that their game is ready to go on launch day.
