Bethesda's sci-fi RPG Starfield is finally here along with a lengthy list of interesting new characters, locations, and lore. One of the most fascinating is the cyberpunk-style city of Neon, a large fishing port located on the planet Volii Alpha in the Volii star system. Players will have to visit this location on their way through the main quests, though they can visit before this time to check out any of the city's numerous interesting quests and activities.

In addition to its sprawling markets and tightly buttoned corporate entities, Neon is also home to a vast criminal underworld which includes fierce gang rivalries and personal feuds. As one of the more lawless settlements in the game, Neon is also one of the most interesting and reveals more secrets about itself the more players are willing to explore it.

7 Explore Bayu Plaza

Starfield Neon Bayu Plaza

Neon's main strip is split into two sections: Bayu Plaza and Ikuchi Market. Upon exiting the main elevator from the Neon Spaceport, Bayu Plaza can be found on the right-hand side. The district is home to a variety of important landmarks and stores such as The Volii Hotel, Sieghart's Outfitters, and Trade Tower, which includes the famous Astral Lounge.

The Emporium is another interesting shop in this district and is well worth a visit since players will receive a unique quest from the shopkeeper. The area also offers several access points down to the Ebbside district, which will bring players out near the Sleep Crate Vendor and Madame Sauvage's Place.

6 Browse Ikuchi Market

Starfield Neon Ikuchi Market

Ikuchi Market is on the other end of the strip from Bayu Plaza and is located on the left-hand side of the main Spaceport entrance. Here players will find more goods and services, ranging from the Trade Authority to Newill's Goods and the Ryujin Industries Apartments and Headquarters.

Players who are seeking to join the Ryujin Industries faction should head through the market where the main building can be found right at the end of the strip. Speaking to Newill will also unlock a quest related to trading disputes and racketeering among the city's merchants.

5 Visit Ebbside

Starfield Neon Ebbside

Ebbside is certainly not as glamorous as the aforementioned districts, but it does have plenty of its own secrets and locations worth visiting. In addition to the Euphorika and Madame Sauvage's nightclubs, Ebbside also has several markets where players can buy food and even rent accommodations.

There are plenty of quests and interesting characters located in Ebbside, and players can find themselves involved in all sorts of criminal enterprises here, from the smuggling of Aurora to an all-out gang war in the streets.

4 Visit Trade Tower

Starfield Neon Trade Tower

Trade Tower is an important landmark in Neon and serves as the hub for many of the city's powerful corporations. The tower is home to businesses such as Celt Corp, Kore Kinetics, and Slayton Aerospace. Each will have their unique vendors and quests for the player to complete.

Kore Kinetics is a premier weapons shop and offers a range of gnarly modified weapons as well as a shooting range for players to test them out. It is also possible for particularly wealthy players to purchase the Sky Suite penthouse on the top floor of the tower.

3 Buy A Home

Starfield Neon Sleep Crate

For players who are particularly fond of the city, it is possible to establish permanent residence by purchasing one of the city's two available homes. First, the Sleep Crate is available for 6,500 Credits and it's located in the Fish Market of Ebbside - this is the cheapest available player home in the game except for borrowed accommodations (The Lodge, Parents' House).

Alternatively, the Sky Suite in Trade Tower is available for 235,000 and offers expansive views over the entire city. To purchase this, players must speak to Boone Morgan, the primary bartender in the Astral Lounge nightclub.

2 Visit The Nightclubs

Starfield Neon Nightclubs

While the Astral Lounge is the most talked-about and popular hangout spot in Neon, chiefly for the fact that they distribute the psychedelic hallucinogen Aurora, there are several other clubs and lounges that players can visit throughout the city.

Euphorika is located in Ebbside and can be found by entering through the Bayu Plaza elevator next to The Emporium, while Madame Sauvage's Place is located near the opposite entrance to Bayu Plaza, near the Volii Hotel. Both locations, plus the Astral Lounge will offer players a range of quests, as well as enable them to take Aurora without being persecuted by the authorities.

1 Join Ryujin Industries

Starfield Neon Ryujin Industries

Ryujin Industries are the dominant faction in the Volii star system, and their presence can be felt especially in the city of Neon. This multi-faceted conglomerate is somewhere between the Trade Authority and a criminal mafia, engaging in corporate espionage and other illicit methods to achieve their goals.

With that said, they are one of the most powerful factions within the Settled Systems and offer their own questline for players to complete. Doing so will reward the player with a number of unique bonuses including their very own office inside the headquarters.

Starfield is available now for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
