Retrieve the Secret Outpost Note From Spacers
The Mantis side quest starts after players find a text log called the “Secret Outpost.” To get this note, they must loot Spacers ​(Spacers are interstellar criminals that can be found in most star systems and are hostile toward players). Note that simply grabbing the letter won’t unlock the mission, and players will need to interact with it in their inventory.
Travel to the Denebola Star System
After unlocking the Mantis mission, head to the Starmap and fast-travel to the Denebola star system. From here, land on the “Secret Outpost Waypoint” on planet Denebola I-b and locate Liar of the Mantis. The path to this hideout is revealed once players activate their scanners.
Solve the Pressure Plate Puzzle
Once players have successfully cleared out the enemies in the Liar of the Mantis, their next objective is to find the secret corridor guarded by Livvey. Inside this corridor, they will encounter a series of pressure plates, each bearing white letters. These plates are part of the Mantis puzzle, which grants access to a legendary prize.

When boarding this ship, new interactions will occur during docking and hailing with other spacecraft. For example, certain security guards will offer Credits in return for players sparing their lives, as they mistakenly believe that the actual Mantis is the one piloting the ship.
Get the Legendary Mirrored Mantis Suit
The Mantis spacesuit is in the laboratory of the Secret Hideout on planet Denebola I-b. To get it, players will first need to activate the Mantis spaceship and then retrieve the suit from the protective enclosure.
The armor comes with multiple perks, such as the ones listed below:
- Mirrored Mantis Spacesuit: -15% incoming melee damage, 50% less weapon weight, 4% likelier to reflect attacks.
- Repulsing Mantis Pack: -15% incoming melee damage, 20% extra carry capacity, 5% chance to disarm nearby attackers.
