Table of contents

The main story of Starfield centers around a collection of mysterious artifacts, the first of which players will find during the game's opening stages. As they begin to track down more of these strange antiquities, they'll learn how humanity came to master intergalactic space travel as well as what happened to planet Earth.

It's important to note that the main story is just a small part of what Starfield has to offer, with the game packed full of side content and world-building lore. However, for those who are only interested in the main story or anyone curious about how far into it they are, the following Starfield mission list should prove to be useful.

Every Main Story Mission in Starfield (Starfield Mission List)

starfield-mission-list-all-missions

There are nineteen main story missions in Starfield, which between them should take players around 20 hours or so to complete. This does not include the Power From Beyond questline, which is entirely optional despite being heavily linked with the main story. That said, players are advised to tackle these missions as well, as doing so can make the final stages of the game considerably easier. They're all relatively short, with most taking no more than fifteen minutes to complete.

All Starfield Mission Objectives (Potential Spoilers)

starfield-mission-list-all-objectives

Every main story mission in Starfield is broken up into objectives, with most typically having somewhere between ten and fifteen. However, certain missions are considerably longer than others, including the very first one, which serves as an extended tutorial of sorts. As the game goes on, missions tend to get a little shorter, though there are still a few lengthy ones here and there toward the end. It's also worth noting that certain objectives can vary depending on the choices players make.

Every Main Story Mission in Starfield's New Game Plus Mode (Potential Spoilers)

starfield-mission-list-new-game-plus-missions

After completing the main story, players will be thrown straight into Starfield's New Game Plus mode. Here, they'll be free to replay the story as it originally played out or tackle an abridged version that leads them straight to the end of the game. If they opt for the latter, players will only need to complete four main story missions, which can be done in under ninety minutes. Just like before, the Power From Beyond questline is entirely optional.

  2. Among the Stars
  3. Revelation

All Starfield Main Quests & Objectives in New Game Plus Mode (Spoilers)

starfield-hltb-new-game-plus-objectives

As with the initial Starfield main quest list, story missions in New Game Plus mode are broken down into objectives. Depending on the choices players make, these can vary quite a bit, though a New Game Plus run of Starfield is generally a lot shorter due to there being fewer main quests and players having a much better grasp of what exactly must be done in order to mark off the objectives.
