Pop rock band Imagine Dragons has released a new song made for the upcoming release of Starfield, marking a unique and odd collaboration for Bethesda's upcoming open-world game. Starfield is one of the most highly anticipated releases of 2023. Bethesda's first new IP in decades, following the success with The Elder Scrolls and Fallout, will be launching on September 6. Well known to be fans of video games, Imagine Dragons is bolstering Starfield's launch through its new song, "Children of the Sky."

Imagine Dragons has built a reputation as a huge fan of video games, and a willingness to create music for the industry. That goes as far back as the song "Warriors," made for the League of Legends World Championship in 2014. Imagine Dragons has since contributed music to League of Legends show Arcane, Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, the WWE 2K franchise, and dozens of other games.

In a message posted on Twitter, Imagine Dragons shared that it has made a new song named "Children of the Sky" for the upcoming release of Starfield. Like the song made for League of Legends, "Children of the Sky" was made explicitly for Starfield. Imagine Dragons even goes so far as to say that the song was made in collaboration with Bethesda Studios. The song is now available everywhere, including Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music, and YouTube.

As for why Imagine Dragons decided to partner with Bethesda to make a song for Starfield, the band says it's as simple as being fans. The song announcement on Twitter says that Imagine Dragons has "been playing Bethesda Studios games for most of our lives," and that the band was honored to collaborate on the song. Imagine Dragons sees its popularity as an opportunity to work with the video game developers that it loves.

It isn't clear at this time whether Imagine Dragons' new song will be included in Starfield itself. Right now, it's only being used as promotional material. Bethesda released a music video trailer for Starfield that features "Children of the Sky." Given the content of the song, it would certainly be fitting to include it somewhere in Starfield.

Fans of Imagine Dragons and of Bethesda Studios can listen to "Children of the Sky" now. It's available to listen to or purchase through most online music shops and sources. It's a great little way to build up some excitement and set the mood for the upcoming release of Starfield. It's a game many have been waiting for, including the members of Imagine Dragons.
