It was quite the blow to the fan base when Bethesda announced that Starfield and Redfall would be delayed until next year. As one of the most anticipated games of this generation, Starfield represents a new era for the developer. Traditionally associated with The Elder Scrolls and Fallout games, the studio's upcoming sci-fi epic will be a brand-new IP, something that has got a lot of people very intrigued. Interest in the new game has therefore been quite high. In fact, it has inspired an unofficial fan-made trailer, which has been made in a different engine entirely.

The YouTube channel ENFANT TERRIBLE has uploaded a video which, at a cursory glance, could easily be mistaken for an official Starfield trailer. It even shows the Bethesda logo at the start. However, this is just a fan project created using the work of numerous artists, according to the video description, and has been made in Unreal Engine 5 along with a number of other tools. This fan-made "trailer" looks pretty spectacular, reimagining aspects of the official game using screenshots and other teased content that was doing the rounds. Using the might of UE5, it really shows just how powerful the engine is, especially when considering the footage is in 4K.

While Bethesda delayed Starfield until 2023, fans are having to keep themselves occupied until it finally launches. Initially, it was supposed to be coming out this November, and while no new date has been specified, it can be expected that the game will be pushed back by anywhere from two to seven months. The reason for the delay, according to a post on the studio's Twitter page, is that both Bethesda and Arkane, Redfall's developer, are hoping to deliver the "most polished versions" of these games and made the decision to extend the development time.

Hopefully, it will all pay off. In the meantime, some people in the community have been amusing themselves with some newly leaked Starfield content. In a post on Reddit a few days ago, an image of a door from the game was uploaded, and while many were astonished at the level of detail in just this one leak, others were jokingly awestruck at the sight of a mere door. One user called it "GOTY," while another said that Bethesda taking an invention that's thousands of years old and putting it into a game will be "worth the wait."

That aside, there is hope that Starfield will be discussed at the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase, which takes place on Sunday, June 12. Whether fans will be treated to any official trailers remains to be seen, but it's likely that the game's developer will give further details about what players can expect. Maybe another door will get revealed.
