Starfield was recently made available across all platforms after a full week of early access on Steam. Being Bethesda’s first major IP after almost 25 years, players had high expectations for the game, which Todd Howard and his team have seemingly managed to fulfill as Starfield has received stellar reviews across the industry. Xbox’s Phil Spencer praised Bethesda and the players for Starfield’s remarkable achievement of hitting more than 1 million concurrent players across all platforms. The game's early access launch on Steam also proved to be a huge success as Starfield had more than 200,000 concurrent players before its full launch. Several other Xbox studios like 343 Industries and Obsidian have also congratulated Bethesda for the launch of its first major IP in 25 years. Starfield has also received high praise from God of War creator David Jaffe, who placed it among his top 3 games of all time. In addition to this, the overall review scores for Starfield have been largely positive, and have paved the way for it to become one of 2023’s highest rated games.

Aside from this, the community has already started discovering amazing details about the game. For instance, a player discovered an “Hours without incident” clock on Mars that resets if players cause an "incident." Another community member discovered an obscure Lord of the Rings Easter egg in Starfield which shows up in the description of Potatoes in the game.

While the game runs smoothly for most, several PC players have complained about audio issues plaguing the game. Other complaints also include random frame drops, dialogue lags, and delayed animations, which can hamper the gameplay experience. While Bethesda will probably address some of these issues in future updates, Todd Howard has suggested that players may need to upgrade their systems as Starfield is a “next-gen PC game.”

Starfield is available now for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
