In Starfield, aluminum can be purchased from vendors. It’s not a bad way to get it, but there are much better options out there which will grant more material for a lower cost.

Mining is probably the best possible way to get aluminum, or any other material, efficiently. Users can automate the process using outposts with extractors in them. The Geology skill in the Science section of the skill tree will increase the number of materials during extraction, so definitely invest skill points into that.

Below are some great planets to mine aluminum:

  • Thalassa in the Olympus Solar System is a wonderful option for mining aluminum. The planet is available for exploration very early in the game, letting players get aluminum and build outposts early. It’s a low level planet with very few threats, making it very safe. No matter where players go, they will find huge amounts of it to mine and extract.
  • Sumati’s moon Andraphon in the Narion System. Just like Thalassa, gamers can get to Andraphon quite early in the game. This moon won’t have a set amount of aluminum. Sometimes it’s filled with it, sometimes not so much. But, it’s worth checking out nonetheless.
  • Danram in the Narion System. Located in the same system as Andraphon, it’s arguably better, since it has both aluminum and helium, letting to extract both. Players may be wondering, why does helium make the planet more valuable? Well, by extracting helium, they can set up material shipping. Yes, players can ship the passively extracted materials, including aluminum, to whatever destination they’d like thanks to helium, making the process even more convenient.
  • Porrima III in the Porrima System. The only problem here is that the aluminum is located underground, so players will need to set up an outpost and extract the aluminum passively with extractors.

Starfield is available now for PC and Xbox Series X|S.
