Shad , a fish with a unique migratory behavior. Shads are typically silver with a metallic sheen on their scales. They are usually found in the ocean but migrate to freshwater rivers to reproduce.
Shads reproduce every 2 days when placed in a Fish Pond and yield valuable green Shad Roe. Although it is one of the most basic fish in Stardew Valley, it can prove to be very useful. This guide reveals all the possible locations for players to catch this mesmerizing fish.
Where to Catch Shad in Stardew Valley
Since Shad is a freshwater fish, it can be caught in any of the freshwater bodies in Stardew Valley. The best locations to catch Shad are The Pelican Town River and The Cindersap Forest Pond. Additionally, players who have selected the Riverlands Farm, Forest Farm, or Hill-Top Farm layouts can reel in a Shad from the premises of their farms.
The ideal time to catch a Shad is between 9 AM and 2 PMon rainy days. Shads are only available for fishing in the Summer, Spring, and Fall seasons.
Players can catch a Shad at any time or any season using the Magic Bait.
Alternatively, players can purchase a Shad from Krobus. Krobus is a friendly monster that lives in the Sewers. He sells Shad for 200 gold, but there’s a catch.
