Best Weapons In Stardew Valley, Ranked

Weapons are a huge aspect of Stardew Valley, even for a farming sim, and these are the best options.

Arguably, one of the most important stats a weapon can have is the Crit. Power bonus, which increases how much damage a critical strike yields. Weapons with a high Crit. Power bonus on top of their base damage range can be absolutely lethal in combat. Here are some of the best weapons in Stardew Valley with high Crit. Power stats.

10 Yeti Tooth

26-42

Stats

  • Defense +4
  • Crit. Power +10

Where

The Mines (Floors 81-99)

As players descend further into the Mines, monsters go from minor nuisances to deadly opponents, so dealing tons of damage is imperative for survival. The same goes for anything that boosts the player’s Defense and minimizing how much damage they receive.

Luckily, the 1.5 update to Stardew Valley introduced the Yeti Tooth, a sword that is just as much about defense as it is about offense. With a Crit. Power of +10, players can dish out more pain than they are served.

9 Obsidian Edge

Make ‘Em Count

Obsidian Edge

Level

6

Damage

30-45

Stats

  • Speed -1
  • Crit. Power +10

Where

The Mines floor 90 chest reward

Sometimes, going slowly isn’t always a bad thing. Spamming the attack button can often lead to more misses than hits, so the Obsidian Edge’s -1 Speed forces players to time their attacks.

It’s a good thing, too, since every hit is sure to hurt with the Obsidian Edge’s obscene base damage. And, with a Crit. Power of +10, this jet-black blade is a miner’s best friend against Shadow Monsters.

8 Steel Falchion

Swing Like A Propellor Blade

Steel Falchion

Level

8

Damage

28-46

Stats

  • Speed +4
  • Crit. Power +20

Where

  • The Mines floor 110 chest reward (remixed mine rewards only)
  • The Mines (Floors 101+)
  • Skull Cavern
  • Adventurer's Guild (after unlocking the Mines floor 90)

While it is sometimes beneficial to be more calculated and methodical in your attacks, there is no denying that button-mashing is almost second-nature for most players. And when players are surrounded by enemies on all fronts, attacks are more about quantity over quality.

Thankfully, the Steel Falchion does both. Its Speed +4 turns this blade into a meat blender, with a critical strike that turns monsters into mincemeat.

7 Burglar’s Shank

For Precise Sneak Attacks

Burglar's Shank

Level

4

7-12

Stats

  • Crit. Chance +2
  • Crit. Power +25

Where

  • The Mines (Floor 60 chest reward, remixed Mines reward only)
  • The Mines (Floors 81+)
  • Skull Cavern

Crit. Power isn’t the only stat in Stardew Valley that influences critical strikes, as Crit. Chance determines what makes those deadly hits more likely to happen. Together, these two stats can form a lethal combo.

The Burglar’s Shank is a perfect early-game example of this. While its base damage is fairly poor, it's somewhat offset by its critical strikes. Just like an assassin laying an ambush, striking out from their hiding place, the Burglar’s Shank goes right for the jugular.

10

Damage

55-64

Where

Adventurer's Guild (after unlocking the Mines floor 120)

For the most part, players can mostly rely on weapons they discover while mining, making purchasing weapons from the Adventurer’s Guild not entirely necessary. However, the Lava Katana is an exception to that rule. It’s one deadly weapon players will be thankful for when they reach the Skull Cavern.

Its high base damage and Crit. Power +25 is a killer combo. On top of that, it boosts Defense and has some deft Weight to it, too, sending enemies clear across the board, making it the perfect tool for keeping Serpents at bay.

Sharp As Steel, Hard As A Diamond

Crystal Dagger

Level

4

Damage

4-10

Stats

  • Crit. Power +50
  • Weight +5

Where

The Mines floor 60 chest reward

Speaking of great weapons players find in the Mines, the Crystal Dagger is an excellent reward for reaching the halfway point. Like most daggers, its base damage is low, but it’s got the critical strikes and incredible knockback power to make up for it.

At this stage in the game, players may not be used to wielding any weapon other than swords, so it can be tricky to land the timing for other weapon types. That’s why the Crystal Dagger is a great opportunity for players to start practicing.

4 Dragontooth Cutlass

Nothing Slices Like Razor-Sharp Teeth

Dragonstone Cutlass

Level

Damage

75-90

The 1.5 update gave Stardew Valley fans a whole new island to venture through, including a new dungeon to explore filled with amazing new weapons. The Dragontooth series is some of the deadliest in the game, forged from the incisors of an ancient monster.

Is it any wonder why the Dragontooth Cutlass has such an astounding Crit. Power stat? Players are bound to land more critical strikes than not, and, even if they don’t, the base damage range will ensure nothing in the Volcano stands a chance of survival.

3 Dragontooth Club

Crushed Via Dragon Molar

1 Iridium Needle

A Lethal In-And-Out

Iridium Needle

A needle might not sound like a very effective weapon to most gamers. Why poke enemies when slashing and stabbing are so much more dangerous? Well, those players haven’t encountered the critical hit machine that is the Iridium Needle.

This devastating weapon has a staggering +200 Crit. Power. To put that in perspective, a regular hit from the Iridium Needle does upward of 35 damage. While this isn't significant, on a critical hit that number shoots up to a whopping 245 damage. With the bonus in Crit. Chance, those shots will be landing more often than not.
